I think he is a good appointment. Lets be clear, he is a recruitment guy, not a Sporting Director. He has excellent contacts in the NE of England and presumably elsewhere (due to the clubs within Sport Republic's portfolio).

A number of people (Goldie, A. Asghar, Mowbray) have gone down to Southampton as a career move believing that Sport Republic were going to be transformational for the club.

Henrik Kravis (KKR) resigned at the beginning of  February from both Sport Republic Ltd and Southampton Board

Having looked at the size of staff at the club, I would imagine there will be a few more departing
