Show your age 🤣
Anyway, watched this over the champ game, keepers played a half each. Adams a big improvement. Very vocal and if not the best pen strike still a good save.

Kristijan Trapanovski came off the bench to make his North Macedonia debut in their 3-0 away win in Leichtenstein.in their opening World Cup Qualifier.
David Babunski didn't make the squad.

Sam Harding made his first Scotland U21 start and Miller Thomson also started against Iceland in the Pinatar Tournament.
But it was a humiliating and shocking 6-1 defeat against the country who's population is around half of Glasgow's.
Scott Gemill can't be in that role much longer, been years of failure and non-progression.

Definitely a worse result than getting pumped from a good Greek team

And to think folk want u21s promoted to the full squad. They are absolutely fucking garbage. This current full team Scotland has will be as good as it gets for at least the next 10-15 years. And most of the boys like McGinn, Robertson etc are either over 30 or pushing 30.

Trapanovski came on in the 92nd minute for North Macedonia and four minutes later Wales scored the equaliser to sicken the Macedonian's in their 1-1 home draw. A vital two points thrown away in World Cup qualification.
Jort Van Der Sande started for Bonaire in their friendly against Niger in Casablanca, Morocco.
A 6-0 hammering.
Is it really worth all the air miles?

With every trip 'back home' to get game time, only to fly back to Dundee for none, it must be playing on his mind that it's time to cut and run.
Can we fit a few others in his luggage?

Tbf to Stevie Clarke he's called up our two best U21 players (by miles) Lennon Miller and Ben Doak.
Albeit, he's was very reluctant to use the latter, despite an outcry for well over a year, and then it subsequently turns out he's by far our most effective attacking player, who we've missed massively against Greece.
I agree with you though, that the talent at U21 level just isn't there. I hate to say it, but boys like Sam Harding starting says it all. He's only played for Kelty Hearts and hasn't kicked a ball since Xmas.
That's no hate on the lad btw, i hope he turns out great for us, but it's telling he is starting at CH for our U21's.
Miller Thomson has also barely played.

Clarke should have been out the door after that disgrace in Germany. Arrogant man. Couldn't motivate a hungry dog to attack a sirloin steak.

Heard one of the commentators say that Clarke had said he'd pull the pin after next tournament.
... Disnae work that way Steve - you don't get to pick and choose.

You have to suspect the legacy of Berti Vogts still scars and terrifies the SFA.
It shouldn't, but it probably does. It's illogical, it's like saying one German manager was a disaster so never appoint another foreign coach never mind a German.
Clarke 's minor success in the job has hidden the fact that with the best crop of players for decades he could have been doing so much better. What better would have looked like is probably debatable but I do think qualification from our Euros group was a possibility and like the previous Euros failure he blew it with extreme caution.
And bottom line is I'm sick of seeing his greeting face and hearing his pathetic excuses.

I think it runs deeper than that. It’s how you view football and how you view the development of a club. The question has been asked (both at club and international level), why can’t we develop young players? My argument is that we do, but managers don’t have the balls to play them because if they do and they underperform they (the manager) gets sacked. So they play the safe option. What made Fergie, exceptional was not recognising he had a “golden generation”but having the balls to play them. In Clarke’s case, he is regarded as a success because he has qualified for two tournaments.
To build something truly great, you have to: Embrace failure, Have a growth mindset, Manage expectations and Enjoy the process.
If you take Ian Cathro, he achieved something great at his football school in Brechin. He took three kids- John Soutar, Ryan Gauld and Euan Sparke to first team football at United, whilst they were 17-18. In the case of the former two we all marvelled at their development (despite results).
After that Cathro went on to coach under Nuno Espírito Santo then Andre Villas Boas and finally Rafael Benitez. If you remember, when he got the Hearts job, he was ridiculed by Kris Boyd and Stephen Craigen, for never having played football, being too young, having no authority and only being able to play a computer game. Ultimately he was an example of someone who threatened job opportunities for other people. By this point we all knew you didn’t need to be a footballer to be a great manager, however, the “jobs for the boys” culture trumps everything else in Scottish football.
We all marvel at footballers who can do things which can’t be coached. In Scotland the ability to express yourself is limited to: 1) Get in their faces, 2) Win the first battle, 3) Don’t take risks 4) If in doubt put it out.
When Scotland fail to qualify for the next World Cup and the same questions are asked (as they always are), you will still hear ex pros, who only speak English and have never done anything outside football pontificating on what went wrong
