Of the out of contract players i'd only keep Ruairidh Adams (20) who's done well at Kelty Hearts and Miller Thomson who's still young enough (20) to become a good player and has shown flashes of it.
Of the loan players i'd only try for Sam Dalby.
Of the players still under contract, i would be looking to move on Richard Odada and Jort Van Der Sande.
Which would only leave us with 10 players. Another huge Summer of recruitment coming up and i truly hope we are ready to hit the ground running this time. I want us to smash the League Cup group stages (assuming we miss out on Europe).
Edit - Forgot two or three youngsters who are on loan and soon out of contract. Added them to the list.
I'd also be offering contracts to Scott Constable and Charlie Dewar who are doing well at Stirling and Alloa respectively.

Agree with you that we also need to move on Odada and Jort.
I reckon ultimately a good few of the contract talks won't really start until we know what side of the table we're going to finish in.

Id re sign
Adams
Gallagher
Thomson
Middleton
Loans id like
Stephenson
Dalby
Walton
Adeboyega
If we can get somebody to sign odada then brilliant.
Adeboyega I reckon has been hung out to dry a wee bit by Goodwin. Hes been used in the derby as the only centre back and often hes being made to create overlaps with wingers. If he let him just be a defender in a solid partnership. I think he'd be fine.

I actually agree with that Tangy.
I think we could do better than him in the here and now, but also think he could turn into a very decent player under the right circumstances (the one's you pointed out, plus playing alongside experience vital).
So, he may be worth a punt as a long term option. Though whether we could even get him is another thing.
I believe he's quite highly rated at Norwich, so they may only be open to another loan, in which case i'd pass.

For me:
Out of Contract, extend:
Adams - good season at Kelty, another season on loan then replaces Richards as back up.
Gallagher - shown there is another season in him at least.
Middleton - still young enough (25) to improve another long term contract for me.
O'Donnell - progressing so a definite.
MacLeod - there is a player in there, unless he makes us some cash for training comp?
Thomson - wrong player went out on loan (should have been Fotheringham who's knack of being in the right place at the right time in the Champ has not been repeated in the Prem)
Campbell - going against the grain here, but we'll probably lose Stephenson and Sevelj may get poached too so a bit of insurance (so long as he's played deeper).
Loan Players: extend or sign:
Dalby
Stephenson
Adeboyega
Walton
Move on:
Odada
vDS
Trapanovski - if we can secure a better replacement and can get a fee for him. Just don't see him becoming the player we actually need. Especially if Babunski moves on - which looks pretty certain.
Another massive job for the recruitment team - especially given we were a pretty small squad anyway.

A challenging question when we're on the back of a Derby hammering and that cave in at Aberdeen but here goes with answers and comments against Teks post above

The Docherty situation is extremely frustrating as we've basically had a Docherty-roled hole in the team every time he's not playing.
Big task is to solve that problem, whether it's getting the man himself regularly available, or bringing in an able replacement.

Hen, I agree that the position is key and we've spent a whole season without consistency in the midfield. Had Sibbald and Doc been available together for the majority of games I think we'd be sitting 3rd at this moment in time.
But we can't expect anything to change in regard to Docherty. We just can't rely on his availability and that means sadly he needs to be released.

I was wrong about Miller Thomson. He isn't out of contract this Summer, he's contracted with us till 2027.
So, out of the o.o.c. players i'd keep.
Ruairidh Adams
Charlie Dewar
Scott Constable
But send them all back on loan.
Lewis O'Donnell was highly rated in our Academy but hasn't played much for QotS this season, though did play and score on Saturday. Will be interesting to see how he ends the season.
Offline
It won't and can't work like this, but if I take all the players listed above, treating it as a blank canvas, where we can freely pick anyone regardless of contract situation, trying to build an XI i'd be 100% confident starting next season with and looking to kick on, then allowing 3-4 young lads to pad the squad out then, I think i'd have about 6 definite starters tops, and 3-4 on the bench.
Every player in some way has contributed, there's been some great flashes, some great results, but I feel we're too light in some positions and stacked in others, some have been brought in when we already have players for that position, at the expense of other areas.
So whilst some might see it as harsh, bar the young lads who've not had a chance at first team level, I'd clear all the out of contract players, the only loanee who's been consistently decent is Dalby.
Adeboyega and Stephenson are too hot and cold, I wouldn't cry if a few of our contracted players moved on as well.
I'm not purposely putting a downer on our lads, but if we look around our league, there's 6 teams who we'd pay decently more wages than, there must be a CH who'll offer as much as Gallagher, but on a lower wage, there will be one who's not a work in progress like Graham, there will be wingers who'll offer more goals/assists than Trapanovski and Middleton.
Apart from the January window, recruitment has been pretty decent, I hope we've got deals lined up, or a few pre-contracts already signed.
We might drop out the top six, but there's enough points on the board that we can say with a degree of certainty we will be in the top flight, I hope we don't play the sentimental card again this summer, two of the players we really could've done with were given deals, have missed loads of games and we've had to bring in 4 players to replace them, and none of them have really done the job we needed them to.

Definitely gonna be a rebuild comparable to the last 2 summers again. Of the out of contract players I’d be keeping Gallagher, Middleton & on a heavily reduced, appearance based contract, Docherty, some people will scoff at that, but I’d hate to see him overcome his injury problems and do the business for someone else, cause I genuinely think he’s one of the best midfielders in the country outside of the old firm.
Fotheringham isn’t out of contract unfortunately, United gave him a new deal ages ago which they weirdly have never announced. But yeah I’d be looking to bin him, Odada, Meshack and Jort.
I’d happily keep all the loan players we brought in in the summer, the January ones not so much. But realistically the only one we have even a slight chance of holding onto is Walton.
Don’t let one really bad game fool you into thinking everyone’s a bad player. Gallagher and Walton have been excellent for us this season, and some continuity is important when you’re gonna have such a high turnover of players this summer.

Why would anyone want to release our U-Scotland internationals? 0 sense in that.

For the week after a derby loss we all lose the plot (to varying degrees) and start to think like Dark Blues. Whilst the Dark Blues are currently somewhere between Geordie and Euromillions winner level of positivity. The world will get back on its axis shortly.

Just because someone has a Scotland cap at U21 or younger doesn't mean they are necessarily good enough for us.
Lewis Fiorini has U21 caps and can't get a sniff for us.

I don't think that is what he is saying. If someone is currently getting age level caps it does mean that they have the potential to be top level players. Fiorini once had that potential and now can't get a game for Dundee United - two different things.

I'm just making a general point. Fiorini is only 22 btw. He's only been out the U21 set-up a year and yet can't get near our team.
I note you yourself didn't mention keeping Jack Newman incidentally.

I don't think thats unreasonable when both the OOC goalkeepers are U21, its likely to be a choice of one or the other.

Miller Thomson I’d be keeping, he’s still young and has shown he has something. I thought he was excellent in the derby on first day of the season, even a few Funsters I know picked him out as the one that caught their eye for us that day. Then he makes a howling arse of that chance up in Dingwall and never really got another run in the team.
Kai I agree isn’t up to it at this level. He’s just not got the quick burst of acceleration needed to play as a winger here, a shame cause he’s not a terrible player at all, and his goal and assist record last season was impressive, but even then, he never fully passed the eye test for me. I’d have liked to have seen what he could do as a striker in a pairing, but we don’t really the luxury of being able to experiment at this stage, so I’d probably think it’s best he moves on. He’s a Falkirk boy I believe, I wonder if that’s maybe his next move.
