Was having a think about this last night and i'm more and more convinced thinking about it that this deal was struck quite some time ago.
All season his general demeanour hasnae looked right.Mind the game he came on (was it County away 3-2?) with Connolly and his face was fucking tripping him?
He hasn't featured in the first team all that much and has been in and out of the starting XI.
Against Celtic in the 2-1 win just before Xmas he wasn't even in the squad never mind the first team or bench.Club cited that he had a bug and was at home...4 days later however he's on the bench at Perth.
Also noticed a few times earlier in the season Jckie and ST both hinting in interviews that he could be away in January.Remember thinking at the time it seemed like they were almost trying to get him out the door and why was this?
Seems to me that this has been lingering all season.Or am i reading too much into things?

Said in the other thread that this had been on the cards longer than we were being told. F all you can do about it these days tho.
Also don't really think it's contributed to his form, he hasn't hit the heights for quite some time now, including 2nd half of last season. Not saying he's been terrible, just not as good as he was before.

I have been pretty quiet about the GMS thing, St Obs kind of sums up how I feel about it, I dont doubt for a second GMS will give 100% for us till the end of the season, whether his agent(s) have been doing some stuff with Celtic is something that we will probably never know.
I wish he went down south like Johnny Russell, Andy Robertson etc. instead of a rival SPL club, so I can still follow his career with interest and still support him and the likes but whats happened has happened.
The big thing that will get on my tits though is the media going into overdrive saying what a great player he is, and to hold him in almost the messiah like regard, Aiden McGeady style, and being picked for Scotland more regulary purley because he now plays for one of the old firm, even though he has been arguably one of our best players since he joined our club.
The Scottish media should play up to the fact that its no longer a two horse race every year here and take cognisance of the fact that the 'smaller' teams are now challenging and developing their own talent and squads, and should celebrate that fact rather than all the doom and gloom hanging over the west because the Rangers are now shite because they are shite at doing shite in regards to running a shite football club. The media should be celebrating talents like GMS at United and McKay at ITC etc more often in hope that it will raise the clubs profile and try and keep the player at the club instead of having an inferiority complex next to the old firm.
Thats what will get on my tits. I will be supporting GMS until he is no longer under contract with us, if people want to boo him and hope he gets his legs broken and the likes, then thats up to them. I want to support Dundee United and everyone who pulls on the jersey for us on any given match day.
Rant over.
P.S. Rangers are shite.

Like anything else in the world it's down to the conditions of the contract he has signed bud. One thing for sure though is he wont be an employee of Dundee United next season. Time to concentrate on those who are
