Absolute warrior. Pound-for-pound, one of our best signings of the last 10-15 years. Solid as a rock, defends like his life depends on it and is always a threat in the opposition box.
When he signed, I thought “wtf are we signing him for?” Mostly based on Funsters I know telling me he was shite, and was the fans boo-boy throughout his time there.
But my god, what a signing he’s been for us, I can’t even think of many, if any occasions where he’s cost us, and he’s certainly earned us more than his fair share of points throughout his time here.
I’d 100% be sticking a new contract on the table for him to sign tomorrow with a decent pay rise included, he’s more than earned it.

I’m keeping my status on him.
Jury’s oot.
Cause if I start praising players they become absolute mince and quite frankly I don’t need that this week coming. 😂

Don’t post on here very often but echo all the sentiments said on here, could not believe we were signing him!! The guy has not put a foot wrong since we signed him and has been a revelation.
Play him in midfield when we are short and he has done a job, back 3 and he has been solid, today we revert back to a back 4 and I think he may have had his best game in a utd shirt, even before he scores a 94th min winner.
Delighted for him and very happy he is part of that squad, nobody has let us down this season and we should be aiming for third place as the rest of the league are fucking louping!!
Online!
why settle for third?
that huns gang are also fucking louping!

Totally.
Confession, start of season I thought we could do better.
Complete shite that was ..... complete !!
No just solid but another leader, modest guy, takes responsibilty, talks, does everything asked of him, odd valuable goal, gaffers dream ... could go on.
Whit a team this !!

As Shaky says, doubt there is an Arab out there that seen this guy performing at this level.
He must have an incredible amount of confidence within himself.
Keep it up Kevin.

Seriously never thought that Holt had these performances in him. I thought that when Graham was back fit he'd be straight out the team again. Confidence is a funny thing, but he's taken his chance with Graham's injury and the way he is playing Graham is going to need to be patient to get his chance if Goodwin sticks to a back four. Caps doffed to Kevin, what a brilliant role model for the youngsters in the team.
I've been a long critic of Goodwin but what he is currently getting out of this small squad can't go without praise. If you compare our attacking options to Aberdeen, he is performing miracles. Nisbet, Duk, Polvara and Morris would start for most Scottish teams and Thelin was able to bring them on from the bench. He also still had Ambrose and Shinnie on the bench. If we can add one or two options up front in the window then Europe beckons. As it is, we are, I think already safe in the league so main objective completed and anything else is a bonus.

Not saying it can’t happen or whatever, but could you imagine the northern seeth if we leaped them and the Huns with Goodwin? Holy fuck, I’d dine out on that for years.

We’d be stupid and naive to let him go for £100k this window. We’ve got a very good chance at finishing 3rd which means guaranteed Europe until next February as long as one of the Old Firm win the Scottish Cup. That also means a minimum of £5m into the coffers.
Why would you not take the gamble on that for a pittance like £100k? We should be looking to strengthen this window and double down on our efforts so we can finish the season as strongly as we’ve started it. Its not often you’re gonna get an opportunity like this, where Aberdeen, and the Edinburgh two are this shite, while we’ve got a team with a bulletproof mentality and are rightly favourites to finish 3rd.
To sell one of our best players and someone who’s likely a big part of this teams mentality and will to win, for a mere £100k would be suicidal and the sort of short term, “get cash in the door now” mentality that’s plagued this club for years going back to the Thompson era. Tell them to stick their 100k, take the gamble and go finish 3rd. An extra £5m would allow us to really consolidate ourselves back as regular European contenders, and stop the fuckign yo-yoing we’ve done in the last decade.
If Kevin Holt wants to go at the end of the season fine, there’s nothing we can do about it. But ask him to stick out the season here, get us 3rd and then he can get his move. Fwiw, I’d much rather he signed on next season, but can understand him taking the money if he’s offered what he’s apparently being offered.

There were rumours on social media he was getting a 2.5 year deal at Derry on 3K a week.
He’s not getting that deal in Scotland anyway, you don’t blame him for potentially wanting to leave.

Agreed, but if Holt wants to go now as he's not sure the offer on the table is still there in June (an offer we won't match) then it makes taking £100K for a player we can probably replace with what we have on the books a sensible one. If that is what Holt wants to do then I don't think the club should stand in his way. A bumper last pay day for a guy that probably hasn't earned much over his career must be quite attractive.
I hope he stays and I hope we give him another year deal to enjoy a Euro adventure if we can get there, but I wouldn't blame him for thinking about his family's finances first and foremost.
