What XI and formation on Saturday?
Offline
3-5-2
Usual defence with Stephenson and Sevelj in the middle with Babunski just in front.
Up top, Big Sam & Moult.
Tough game ahead, no way will McInnes not gave them up for it after last night.
They possibly played the best spell of football we came up against to date in the wee 20 period.
Good start hopefully and put them under a bit of Pressure.

Tough game. Same team as last week.

Interesting that Goodwin was pressed on Docherty's injury and return date today and pretty much avoided the question.
Briefly mentioned a 'calf strain' but they've been using that particular line for around a month or so.

I thought he answered like a politician but as you say he did say it was a calf strain.
My guess is that he will get a replacement for Docherty in January and Docherty will be gone in the summer.

Like last week I would bring Graham back in for Holt. I just think he is a better player.
The stuff with Doc is just weird. I think he is a great player & leader. The results when he has played Vs not show how good he is. But I am reluctantly coming round to the fact that we can’t rely on him and would probably be better using his wage somewhere else. As captain I would assume he is one of the better paid players.
Killy not great away from home. We really should be getting 3 points in this one. Won’t be easy.

Weather doesn't look the best for this overnight. Rain and wind warnings in place.

This game might be in doubt, 40 mph winds.

Echo this. Let's not allow them to play their way into a lead, get at them early doors and keep at them.

Tough game, they’ll want to bounce back from that 6-0 pumping midweek.
Same team for me. Hopefully with Moult coming on last week and Graham making the bench they’re also another week sharper from the bench if need be.

I wouldn't mess about with Gallagher & Holt, they are a pairing.

A pretty poor game of football all around that one. Ponderous and slow first half after initially starting brightly. Killie the sort of team where we needed to get in behind but as we have no real pace up top, and neither do they, it became a real slog of a match.
Not helped by a very poor refereeing performance across the board, no bias for any team but slow and inconsistent decision making for both sides. Haven't seen the penalty incident but the reaction, or lack of to be more accurate, from our players suggested it was a pen.
Did think Goodwin let things run for too long without subs, especially since Killies switch to 442 second half but tbh I felt you could've hooked anyone other than Ferry and the 3 at the back. Slow passing, misplaced passes, poor touches. Even saw Gallagher telling Walton to get on with it several times in the first half after he stood about several times.
Still, 5 games unbeaten and they were always going to be up for it after the doing they got midweek.

After all the weegie press discussion it was probably always going to be VAR to even things up against us.
We just didn't play well. In wee spells maybe but not consistently. Kinda hard to know why. But so many misplaced passes as has been said.
We never really created good clear cut chances despite our dominance for most of the game.
Dalby took his goal so well.
Manny's confidence growing with every game.
But the bottom line is its 2 points dropped.

I haven't seen it back but Dalby against the post and Moult past the post from a yard looked clear cut chances to me.

My thoughts on today, we started well and paid the penalty at the end for not converting any of the numerous opportunities we created. Need to score when you are on top like that.
I was happy to go in at half time at 0-0 all the same, I was expecting with a wind like that at our backs and shooting down the slope it would be easy pickings.
Turned out that when Killie changed to a 4-4-2 we seen a lot less of the ball and lost control in the middle (again). Babu got subbed again and not before time, slack again in possession. His replacement though, well I have my doubts.
Big Sam followed up well to a Babu shot and put it away well, big guy is on fire.
As above, big Dick was miles off it today and gave away a stonewaller imo, can't grumble.
A point all the same is no disaster, up to a very respectable 24 points already.
On to Motherwell, JGTA.

Odada = liability.

Yeah, first time in quite a while I'd say Goodwin got the subs wrong.

Wouldn’t have changed the team, moult wasn’t in it at all. Thought the subs were a bit late as well. When we took Dave off we lost the midfield & Luca should’ve been off earlier, he was knackered. 4/6 pts in the last 2 home games is a good return, we keep plugging away.
The penalty for them is a joke, never a pen. Also their boy should’ve been sent off for the tackle on Sevelj which funnily enough sportscene didn’t show.
Big game next week and the start of a tough run in.

Created enough chances today to win the game fairly comfortably.
Just further emphasises our need for a new Striker in January, and he has to have pace.
Very disappointing to drop two vital points right at the death, in a game we should have won. Compounded by the fact Motherwell won three points so late themselves.
Also disappointing that Will Ferry got booked. He's now due a suspension.

a 10-pointer in no particular order -
- Steven McLean looks a wee bit off it, he's not really in control, poor body language
- we didn't do enough to win that game
- it's a funny league apart from Celtic, Killie yesterday could have been any of the other 9 teams and it would have been a very similar match
- thro the middle all the time, we never hit the byeline once, missing Trapanowski
- Killie won the toss & inexplicably let us play downhill 2nd half (Mcinnes mentioned it!)
- VAR is shite whether for us or against us, scrap it till they learn how it could be operating
- Walton is the real deal, he's becoming an excellent keeper with us
- 8,000 + again, on a summer's afternoon there would have been 10,000
- do we have too many defenders playing in midfield?
- good test next week at Motherwell before you-know-who come knocking

Thought he’d be out of Celtic (fine for me) but apparently he’s out of Motherwell next week as the 14 day rule has now been changed to 7 according to someone on twitter. Big miss next week if so.

That's a blow but it's been coming.
Don't know if it's a change in formation or can Middleton play in that role. He played left back in a 4 a few times last season

On reflection it must also be said that the performance on Mani yesterday was probably his best to date.
Got to be honest, I never seen it before but this young guy can certainly play excellent with the ball at his feet and was more like a right winger at times😃.
However my main takeaway from his performance was in injury time when he blatantly pulled back their advancing player deep into injury time when we were outnumbered at the back.
That gets you a round of applause in my book, absolutely marvellous, more of that young man.

On the contrary CCX2 he got no applause from me for that, downright stupid, totally unnecessary, no last man issues at all (else he would have got red). We're ruing Ferry's bookings this morning, Adegboyega will be next.

FFS. How many nearies did we hae yesterday. Dalby, Strain, Ferry, Moult to name a few.
We shoulda had the gehm nailed in 20 mins. Unfortunately fir us, that's when Killie started to come inta the gehm.
We put some brah crosses inta the box and we had mair chances in the box than they had, but nae luck fell oor weh.
Eejit McLean blocks Sevelj, and then he misees him getting clouted beh the Killie player. As CCX says, shoulda been aff. Check fir the Red gets dismissed beh VAR. Eh, but what aboot the Free-kick. Even if it's no a Raed, there's still an infringement.
Weirdo Pen fir Killie Eh thought. the Killie player kicked the ba oot the box to Ferry. Did Odada clip him late. Never seen any oe the highlights. Whatever the case maybe, 1 daft decision, and we drap twa points at hame. Phuckin seek.
MOTM for Ferry.
