On Saturday 19/10) -

In the Scottish Premiership -

Tony Watt was a 46th minute substitute for Motherwell who lost 1-0 at home to Dundee. Watt is yet to score for the Steelmen upon his return. The North Lanarkshire side drop down to fifth with United overtaking them in 4th.

In Scottish League One -

Ruairidh Adams and Sam Cleall-Harding both started and played the full 90 for Kelty Hearts but it was a bad, bad day at the office for the Fifers who lost 2-0 at home to Montrose and as a consequence lost their place at the top of the table, now dropping down to 3rd in a very competitive division.

Lewis O'Donnell started and played the full 90 for QotS but they too suffered a bad day at the office and a 2-0 reversal, this time away to Cove Rangers. The men from Dumfries drop down to 6th after being top of the table a mere fortnight ago. Though the Top 6 are separated by just three points.

In the Scottish Lowland League -

Bryan Mwangi was a 60th minute substitute for Broxburn Athletic, but it was another downturn in their form as the men from West Lothian lost 2-1 at home to Civil Service Strollers. They remain 6th in the table.

Sean Borland and Adam Carnwath both started for Cumbernauld Colts, but both were subbed off on 45 minutes in another deeply disappointing afternoon for the Colts as they lost 3-0, this time away to Broomhill. They remain 16th out of the 18 team league.

In Scottish League One -

Rauiridh Adams and Sam Cleall-Harding both played the full 90 minutes for Kelty Hearts but it was a third straight defeat on the bounce for the Fifers who succumbed to a 2-1 loss away to Stenhousemuir. They now sit 5th in the table.

Lewis O'Donnell was a 80th minute substitute for QotS who lost the Dumfries Derby 1-0 away to Annan Athletic

Bryan Mwangi was an unused substitute for Broxburn Athletic who won 1-0 away to Auchinleck Talbot to progress to the 3rd Round.

With Sibbald out till new year, and Docherty also injured at moment, can we bring Lewis O'Donnell back from his loan to give us another option for central midfield?

Possibly.

But the fact he's not starting for QotS probably indicates Goodwin was right to send him on loan.

Rory McLeod is on a season-long loan to Southampton.
Andy Goldie, formerly our Academy Director, got the same job with Southampton a year ago. (Jammy bar steward).
So I imagine that has everything to do with the loan move.

Btw how good is it that U/21s down there play in European competitions?
Our U/21s are lucky if they get a bounce game on plastic once a month.
But that's a topic for another day.

It happens up here also it's just that our youths ain't good enough.

Hamilton have done well in Europe at youth level from memory and I think Aberdeen kids had s European game last week.

McLeod will end up a player if he wants it hard enough the boy has talent.

In Scottish League One -

Lewis O'Donnell was a very late sub for QotS (91st minute) who won 1-0 at home vs 9 man Montrose to move up to 5th in the table.

In the Scottish Lowland League -

Bryan Mwangi's Broxburn Athletic won 3-0 against Berwick Rangers at home to take them 5th in the table. But there was no info as to the team lines this week, i'm afraid.

Cumbernauld Colts lost 3-2 away to Tranent in a much improved display, following the recent departure of David Proctor and Darren Dods. Sean Borland played the full 90, whilst Adam Carnwath played the first 70 minutes.

In the Scottish Lowland League -

Bryan Mwangi played 90 minutes and was subbed off in injury time for Broxburn Athletic who defeated league leaders Caledonian Braves 1-0, knocking them from top spot in the process.

Broxburn are 5th.

In the English Nations League Cup, Group A -

Rory MacLeod scored for Southampton U21 in their 4-4 draw away to Woking. The game went to penalties and Woking won 3-0.

Happy to hear that MacLeod has found some scoring form. Hope he either actually boost our options up front next season (as opposed to previous seasons when he didn't seem to add anything (young lad so no real criticism)) or earns us some dosh to allow us to bring in someone who will. Still blame Asghar for making him (and others) think they were worldbeaters rather than setting them up correctly. That said, I'm not sure there is now much of a pathway at clubs like United. None of the boys we should have moved on earlier over the last couple of seasons have come to much so far. Maybe we should track them too - any volunteers?

He won't be back at United. His contract is up at the end of the season, IIRC. I also think his move to Southampton is permanent.

He won't be back at United. His contract is up at the end of the season, IIRC. I also think his move to Southampton is permanent.

Didn't know that - I thought it was a loan, but if that takes him to the end of his United contract then agree we won't see him again.

Tony Watt was a second half substitute for Motherwell (68th minute) who defeated St.Johnstone 2-1 at home. The Fir Park men remain in 5th place, just behind Utd on goal difference.

Lewis O'Donnell was a second half substitute (46th minute) for QotS who held league leaders Alloa Athletic to a 1-1 draw at Palmerston. The men from Dumfries remain 6th in the division.

Bryan Mwangi played the full 90 minutes for Broxburn Athletic but it was a day to forget for the men from West Lothian as they went down to a heavy 5-1 defeat away to Celtic B. They remain 6th in the table.

Adam Carnwath scored his first goal for Cumbernauld Colts who battled to a hard fought 1-1 draw at home to Bo'ness United. Both Carnwath and his fellow Utd stablemate Sean Borland played the first 68 minutes for the North Lanarkshire side. They are 17th in the 18 team league and only above the relegation place on goal difference currently.

In the Scottish Cup 3rd Round -

Lewis O'Donnell started the game for QotS in their 1-0 away win at Arbroath, but was subbed off at half time. His replacement (Kyle Doherty) scoring the winner. Arbroath had four ex-Utd players in their starting XI (Keith Watson, Layton Bisland, Craig Slater, Ryan Dow).

Kelty Hearts were defeated 3-2 at Borough Briggs away to Elgin City, but neither Ruairidh Adams nor Sam Harding were in their squad. United must have requested that neither were potentially cup-tied for us later on in the competition. Well done United. Can't be too careful.

Bryan Mwangi however was allowed to play for Broxburn Athletic who registered a brilliant win away at League Two, Stranraer. Defeating them 2-1 (AET) at Stair Park. A much needed shot in the arm for the Lowland League side, who's form had fell off a cliff in the past month.
