Thursday 14th November LIVE on the BBC.
A Dundee United side will face Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen legends sides at the P+J Arena in Aberdeen.
Looking forward to this.

Guessing Wilson never got picked for ra 'tic?
Probably quite an entertaining team to be fair although not sure how mobile some of them will be - Willo will make up for that!

What sort of shape is big Garry Kenneth in these days? Even when he was playing, it seemed he struggled to keep the weight off during the close season.
I could be wrong but i think he still plays for a junior or amateur team.
So, he must have some sort of fitness.
Just checked, it's Lochee United.

Not sure that’s the case

Anyone going to this on Thursday?
Think Utd might take through a decent support.

Not going but will watch on the TV.
Thinks it's on BBC

Off topic sorry but hearing Celtic v Chelsea women live on TV tonite.
Chelsea are 1/50! That implies 5 or 6 nil, maybe even double figures, tho the guy on the radio said Chelsea leaving out some of their best players.
Thinking if Chelsea played our women we might get 20 cos Celtic give us double figures.
Bit of a gulf!

Christ is that what it is? 32 notes.
I suppose you are seeing a few games, but that is still pretty steep.

My only concern is we only have one Striker and Daly was never the most mobile despite being a very decent Centre Forward for us.
Somebody like wee Noel Hunt would have been a good addition. Though hopefully big Jon doesn't have to run about too much and can just goal hang and put a few in the onion bag.

Game 2 -
Rangers 1 Utd 1
No rest for Utd, right back out after playing Celtic.
Daly penalty not given.
And not allowed to take a dangerous free-kick with 10 seconds to go.
Getting absolutely robbed here.

Is McCurry the ref?

Bittersweet night that.
It was great to see players like Swanson, Gomis, Rankin, Kenneth etc represent United one more time (and so well), particularly as some of those players left the club under a cloud some what.
Thought we were the best team in the tournament in terms of possession, pace, tempo etc.
It's actually a bit gutting that we couldn't see those lads lift the trophy because i thought they deserved it over all.
Raging about the decisions that went against us. Not just Rankin's goal that wasn't given but the fact we couldn't get to take the free kick against Rangers, the Daly penalty not given against Rangers etc.
Another thing that went against us was after that first game versus Celtic the lads have to go right back out to play Rangers, so for all intents and purposes played 30 mins non-stop and still deserved to win both games. You seen how spent some lads were after just the 7 minute half.
Rangers, for example at no point played back to back games and it definitely aided them, as tbh i thought they were very ordinary and one paced, and i would have fancied us to beat them in the Final, which we would have made if that Rankin goal stands.
An enjoyable tournament, but a bit gutting we never won it under the circumstances.
What did everyone else make of it?
P.s. why were we wearing a white strip and not tangerine? Paul Gallagher's goalie top would have been ideal tbh.

Gallacher was terrible, I would have done better with some of the goals he conceded and also the size of Gary Kenneth, I thought he was going to have a heart attack at one stage.

It is what it is. Old lads playing fitba. An enjoyable night out and on the whole, united looked very fit and very capable
A few points for them to consider next year if they do it again.
1) get a better playing surface.
2) encourage players to attack rather than boring keep ball- best games of the night were united and dons going for it and the final when it was getting nervy
3) consider putting sides on the walls - time wasted with the ball out of play was crazy- especially as games wore down
4) Consider stopping the clock - again, if a team is chasing a game and players hoof it out of play, it kills late excitement
5) you don't want to be too prescriptive but tge likes of Roy Carroll never played a league game for rangers - so try to get 'heros' to fans than boys who are fit and will show up. I'd rather see garry kenneth than lars hirschfield or some other player with no infinity to a club
6] get referees to move off the half way line

Seen a still photo of Rankins goal and the ball was a clear foot over the line.

A fellow TT member WhatsApped me this pic earlier.
What a nostalgic trip it was to see this little wizard playing for Utd one last time.
Absolute baller.
