Ach well, so be it. It's a good move for him. If he had a choice between Celtic and third tier football in England, he's made the right choice. I would have preferred if it had been kept quiet until summer but I think this is Celtic trying to force through a move in January. GMS can't be blamed for that.
We can't really moan about this when we're doing exactly the same thing with O'Donnell.
Eh hear ya but what I canna understand is he didna have to make this decision until the summer. He's made it now.
Until the last two or three games, you didna know which GMS was gonna turn up and we still dont know this now that he has committed himself to the Tatties.
Conflict of interest and ehd bin him.
Now a place in the team for someone who wants to stay and has eveything to prove.
Wouldn't be surprised if Celtic have forced his hand there mate. 'Well hang if you want son, but we've got other targets we're looking at. There's no guarantee the offer will still be on the table in the summer.'
Oldest trick in the book. Guaranteed United have used it a few times!
Agree though, think his place in the team becomes unworkable now. First mistake or hint he's not giving 100% and the supporters will be all over him. Which I wouldn't really blame them for. GMS has made his bed on that one. Again though, Celtic aren't daft making it public. They know it makes it almost impossible for him to stay until the end of the season now. Certainty he'll be there this month.

All United supporters should continue to get behind GMS. If he helps United win one of the cup competitions we will remember the victory for years, I still remember having a tear in my eye walkie up the Provie in 1979. Gms was a good player for United but a long way from being a great, this time next year when he is sitting on the bench at Parkhead he will be yesterdays news.

This, for me, generally. He can help us win a semi and if Sellick are our next opponents then young Aid will fit in seamlessly, and probably be more productive.
Deep down, I'd prefer us to get 250k and he can fuck off now.

Cannae see us even getting thst tbh Bugs. He'd be cup-tied in both Cups for them so would they splash quarter of a mill just so he can play in about 15 league games? No sure.
Anything close to 100k and i'd take it personally and we get 2 new guys in.

Nae chance that Celtic will pay 250k for him now.
If he isn't performing I'd just not play him. Point of principle.

The more I think about it, Celtic have acted shockingly throughout this.
Deila openly talking about trying to sign him and telling everyone that GMS wanted to sign for Celtic.
Then, when he signs a pre-contract, announcing it publicly. Players sign pre-contracts all the time. No problem. But the player and both clubs virtually always manage to keep their mouths shut about it. To announce you've signed a player in the same league makes his current situation totally impossible. Which is obviously what they want.
There's no rule against it but it's a complete lack of respect. Which is just true to form I suppose...

which is what i said the other day...ST must have known about this, threw out a small token 'he's available for 250 grand' offer, hoping to fuck some decent championship team would have turned his head away fae celtic....whilst in the background, GMS,his agent and Celtic have been rolling oot the carpet
cutting our nose to spite our face but i'd fuck him out the team..you wanna go then go

I know we won't get that now but it was the final line of a bigger post and, having said that, I don't want us to accept a penny under the previous minimum acceptance price, so we're then stuck with him until the season ends.
The crucial thing now is how "professional" he can be in that time.
I would expect the likes of Dillo and Ranks to be totally professional in that position whether they'd signed a pre-contract or weren't being offered an extension, but I honestly can't say the same for Gaz.
BTW, I've a theory on success of football players that's correlational with the size of their heart (that's not physiological).
Following on with that theory, Aid has a small trick locker in comparison to GMS but his heart is about four times larger.

Absolutely.
Players going/coming from different leagues aren't a problem but it's going to be an absolute minefield for the rest of the season for us/them/GMS.

My thoughts on Connolly are he's not got the lightning pace of GMS or the tricks but by fuck the laddie can beat people like they werenae there, can create chances and i also reckon he'll score goals (and important one's too) given time tae fill oot.
The apple never fell far fae the tree it would seem.

I believe the lad will prove to be a great asset for us - until Celtic come calling!

Agreed TEK, said it before but Aid seemed to learn the same in one season that took 3 seasons for GMS. For awareness and decision making, he's right up there with him, albeit we won't get showboating that resulted in fuck all other than entertainment.
Love being entertained, but prefer scoring more than the opposition and winning.
