Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

No GMS?  He's not signed for anyone last time I checked.

Under Levein, Celtic signed Zaluska on a pre-contract and as I recall it didn't affect his performances.  In fact he even scored his penalty against them in the League Cup semi final.

I'm on a course for work on Saturday so won't make the game (awaiting HBAF chastisement).

Too much commotion

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

It's a must win game in the battle for 2nd/3rd never minde the title.  Not really sure what the injury situ is but we've still enough to get the 3 points whatever team plays.

No i wouldn't start him.Think all the speculation might have an adverse effect on his game.

Just my opinion. And would still call on him fae the bench if required.

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

I'd stick with the team from Monday and see how GMS goes, either he'll be on fire or he'll let the game pass him by, if so throw Anier on second half and move Nads Oot left!

If JM thinks he's no right Erskine should come in to start for me

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

I think Jackie is going to mix the team up (rotate) from now on to avoid complacency setting in.  The last few times we have won he's kept the same 11 in the next game and we've lost.

I wouldn't think that would be fair on the players who have trained all week and will be eager to be part of the squad.
A wee half time wave from him would be a good start though

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

Can't predict the team but i can predict the weather. It's going to be bloody freezing, just hope Simon Murray has been back at Tannadice this week to service the boiler and switch on the undersoil heating. Looking at the weather forecast the game should definitely go ahead though. No snow or rain on the horizon according to the BBC but sub zero temperatures will be recorded

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

I would deffo start with GMS tomorrow.

4 goals in last 3 games. Don't care if he';s signed for them tbh. He's still our player and I have no doubt he will continue to perform for us as inconsistantly as he always has

He is in form no doubt about that.

Worry he might become the centre of attention though and it might have an adverse effect on him.

Tell ye one thing if he starts he better get stuck right fucking in.Any side of him hiding and he'll get it tight.

Yeah. I'm not jumping for joy over him signing for they cunts but at the end of the day I hope no one boos him tbh.

Stuff like this happens all the time. Are we not trying to sign MacKay from Icy Tea and O'Donnell from Thistle?

Just part of the modern game. GMS has been a decent servant, he signed an extension a few years back.

Would have preferred him to go down south but tbh I don't think he's built for the Premiership. Hope he continues to play for remainder of season and then come the last game in May he'll be totally off my radar

I would play him for sure. He's the form player in Scotland right now.  Thing is footballers are arrogant sods who dont get worked up about the same things that supporters do. He probably thinks he's done nothing wrong and its just business as usual tomorrow.

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

I know that but unfortunately there will be plenty of folks at the game tomorrow who will think that he has. I doubt he see's it from the fans point of view which in a perverse way is a good thing because he hopefully will be unaffected by it all and maintains his good performances of late.

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

For me, it's better all round if a deal can be agreed for him to go now.

Honestly canna see him being up for the fight when he hears a few jeers aimed at him. It'll happen, nothing surer.

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

Agreed with that in another thread, but this could be a test of his professionalism. He's been on fire lately so lets unleash him on ICT and see just how much he's up for it.

Could make JMacs decisions easier from now on?

Re: Dundee United V's ICT - Saturday 17th January 3pm

Two important points here if gms gets the attention of the george fox boo boys how is that going to make the club look to potential new signings remember the vast majority of players who come to tannadice see utd as stepping stone to bigger things(wages)  secondly gms will not want to go to celtic with a poor run of form in the second part of the season, he is a minor signing for celtic so very easy for delia to make a squad player
