And i know at the moment it's only an IF,but if he is I'd rather he just went NOW and for a nominal fee.

Can you imagine if he signs a pre-contract and he has to play against Celtic in a Cup Final,.Say it goes to a penalty shoot-out.Can you imagine the pressure on him fae both sets of supporters?The prssure would be bound to effect him on some sub-conscious level most certainly.

This needs nipped in the bud in the next 24 hours.Get him in the Managers office and ask him outright if he intends to go there.If he says yes i would take 100k or so for him and get a couple of new players in (over and above Anier) who want to be here.

It sticks in my craw a bit tbh that he's only turned it on in the past 2 weeks.Seems to me that he's been choking to get a move in this window.

if Celtic were offered him now for 100k i think they'de take it mate.It would bolster them and they'de see it as weakening us (i'm not convinced it would).For 100k it's little risk for them.It's buttons to them.

But it's not buttons to us and would enable us to get in the boy O'Donnell right away,and maybe someone else.

If he signs for them he's dead tae me mate.

As i said this needs nipped in the bud asap imo.It's an unnaceptable conflict of interests if he signs a pre-contract for them and then lines up against them in a crunch title match or in a Cup Final.

Here's the way it works, he's entitled to sign a pre contact with any Club he wants and if both parties are clever/cunning then we may not find out where he is going before his contract actually ends. It's shite but it's a fact of life I'm afraid. Like Robbie Winters who didn't go and Willo Flood who did one thing is sure, if he's not away this window you can guarantee the papers will link him with Celtic and their fans will be singing his name very loud every time we play them between now and the end of the season. That's cricket "arry"!

If he intends to go there anyway,we try and push the move asap.

We get something back financially and we don't have a player who's already comitted himself to a rival.

Wish he would just come out and say 'i am leaving Utd in the Summer but won't be signing for anyone until the end of the season and then i'll assess my options'...of which there will be many for him i think.

I'm not fussed where he ends up. If it's Celtic them it's Celtic. He may have said I want to move to England but if it's a choice between 3rd tier English futba and Celtic then why would he choose English futba?

I'll be as sick as anyone if he goes there Tek but until he goes anywhere its sheer speculation and there is feck all we can do about it even if United accept a bid from Celtic or anyone else for that matter he's entitled to sit tight until the moment arrives where he can sign a contract with whoever offers a deal that suits him best. If he went to Celtic he could possibly get a better move down south afterwards than a League 1 side too. Unfortunately this situation isn't all about what's best for United whether it sticks in our throats or not. Just saying likes

At Utd, beans n crumbs comes way before the football. That is why Aberdeen are challenging for, and in my view, will probably win the SPL this year, and that is why we aren't challenging, and have no chance of winning the SPL. Fact.

I hope he doesn't go to Celtic this month, I'm not bothered if he goes there in the Summer.

IF we sell him for £250k now I would hope that we spend that (and maybe £100k more) on signing the boy from Thistle and McKay from Inverness now, show real intent to finish this season with a bang, winning something.

If we sell now and don't spend anything I think that shows that we're aiming for top 4 and semi finals.

TBH Gaz has never been one of my united favs, yes his skill is incredible, and I'm always impressed by the way he gets up and goes again after getting clattered but he's never been consistent or hard working enough for me.

I would like to sell him to England now and use the money to strengthen the team, a right back a goalkeeper and a striker are what we really need IMO, GMS can be replaced by Connolly right now.

If ST lets (or rather forces) GMS go for 250K in the January window, when I know, he knows, and everyone else knows, that GMS's plan was always to play out the season at Utd and then walk out the same way he walked in, then I may just vote with my feet and not bother watching any more games this season.

'250K for GMS', is a disgusting statement and reveals the core scroogelike principles by which the club is being run. I have held this opinion for some time, and take exception to being pilloried and abused for it, just because it runs contrary to the popular fairy tale on places like Utd Mad.

GMS is one of our better players but far from irreplaceable...been many many better players came and gone over the years... I'm guessing ST is playing a game of poker here with him...but still...I've never actually read him being quoted at saying 250 grand and he's gone...why would he? Why not say anything OVER 250 and we'll TALK

He's the one in charge of the finances, the running of our club..he's doing a far better job of it than previous custodians...id leave him to it until the day comes its gone the opposite direction

Spence tweeting that GMS to Celtic on pre contract is the deal but Celtic won't pay to get him now.

If that's the case he has to become a squad player for me now, starts against Dundee though, obviously.
