Just to pass a bit of the boredom of yet another Utd free weekend.
What is your best ever Utd 6 a side team?
Can be players from any era.

The 5 aside leagues I played in were quite physical so that will influence my selection, you need to man up when you play against the likes of inter yirmaw, Barearsealona and Lagerpool.
Monk
Pederson Wilkie
Bowman (capt)
Robson
Gauld (anyone touches that boy they are deed).

When I listen to the Dode Fox podcast, my 6 a side team changes all the time. It's a hard question to answer. There's so many great players that've played for United, but 6-a-sides is a totally different game from 11-a-sides.....
I'd maybe go with:
-------Szamotulksi-------
----Pedersen Narey----
------------Milne-----------
---Shankland Goodie---
Ask me again in a couple of hours and it'll probably be a different answer.

We must have been putting our teams together at the same time. Some players we agree on. I also though about Robson and Gauld..... Just felt Gauld was a wee bit too lightweight for 6-a-sides.

Hamish
Malpas Robertson
McKinlay
Milne Sturrock
Has to be Hamish in goal, no aerial need so ball retention and pace at the back. Badger probably our most complete ball playing midfielder in the middle and Ralphie and Luggy need no explanation.
Some of the 'young team's' selections reminds me of how much of a privilege it was to have a season ticket trough the late 70s and 80s...!

Only McInally played in the Sixes out of them mate. And he was really good.
Let down by other first team players and fringe men no really giving a fuck.
We lost to Dundee in them ffs.

No need for height in a Sixes team as the ball is played on the ground.
So the likes of Sieb, De Vos, Paatelainen, Big Dunc not really the required players in this arena.
I've went with players with good cardio and who can run all day, and also have ability and can pass quickly and accurately.
.......................Pernis.....................
..............J.Souttar...Malpas.......

Decent team that, Miller was fantastic. You wouldn't get a touch of the ball of him in a phone box.
