GMS

Didn't even merit a place on the bench against Celtic. Injured? Caught the bug? Or has Jackie given up on him?

Re: GMS

Unwell I heard. Wouldve at least been on the bench.

Re: GMS

Several players suffering from a stomach bug recently, including Butcher and Dowser who hardly trained last week. GMS quarantined and watched game in his house on the telly.

What about John Souttar?

Re: GMS

Not aware of any official quote on illness, but I think maybe Soapy was one of the main references to players not being up for it v SS?

Re: GMS

200k bid sheff utd. Still at least 50% off even considering it surely?

Other factor being, what clubs would GMS go to. I suspect he would be aiming for established championship club.

Re: GMS

If we accept a bid, it has to be a value that allows us to improve the side now, even if that means paying the whole lot straight back out.

No idea how much that'll need to be but it'll be a fair chunk more than 200k.

Re: GMS

These bids fae Wigan and Sheff Utd are completely derisory and insulting imo.

Sick of Championship teams thinking were some team they can plunder and find a gem for two bob.

Were hardly in the poor house these days.

Make a fair offer or GTF.

Re: GMS

TBH, Jackie & ST have got themselves in a really good position where, if it's not an offer anyone can refuse then fuck off.

Also a marked change on GMS's attitude and performance lately. Initial thought was because of scouts attending, but now beginning to think his heart to heart with Jackie has more to do with it (anyone know if it was before or after the bnb game?).

However it ends up, it looks for a win-win for us, and the player, again

Re: GMS

I reckon the Club and the player should reward the fans on this one and let him play out his contract in the hope that it's beneficial to all concerned. By this i mean the Club have done well financially in the last wee while and the player can thank the support and sell himself by turning out some top performances between now and the end of the season. We lost wee Gauldy and we lost Robbo recently and like them GMS puts bums/feet on seats if he can keep his own arse of one. Now that's the gamble.

Re: GMS

Don't think it would be a great move for GMS footballwise. League 1 Club who are in 6th place. They've little chance of going up this year. Think this would be a bad move.

Re: GMS

Seamingly £1million bid from Sheffield.

If true we need to take it and give jackie the lot to spend this month.

Mental if true.  However if it is true, your spot on with what to do with the cash, that could really see the squad improved.

Re: GMS

Seems bonkers, but I would take it and then the ball is in GMS's court. Got to agree though, Sheffield United would not be a great move looking at their current situation.

Re: GMS

If they've bid that we take it and sign Billy McKay and Paul Dixon.Maybe even   try and get Curtis Good on loan again.

It would open up a load of opertunties for us. Dixon and McKay would be good signings, but not too many. A bit of experiance wouldn't go a miss at the moment. Just not too many.

In agreement with this. Take the money, invest in squad. Good luck GMS, great player.

Re: GMS

love GMS -always will -remember his debut v Slask and saying to myself -he'll be a player

first game he really caught fire was the 6-2 (that score again) v Airdrie in the cup early 2012 -him and Russell were on fire that day -could have been about 16-2.

all best the Gary.
