Re: Dundee United vs Airdrie - Saturday 1st September

Scott joined the academy in 2016, signing from Fairmuir Boys Club at just nine years old. He also featured in the Dundee United FC J League. Dominant, powerful and versatile - the youngster can play in a number of positions, right back centre back or central defending midfielder.

Young Constable who came on is Scott Constable. A midfielder.

Apparently made his Scotland debut for the U17's the other day against Switzerland.

Eh thought Scott Constable was a Centre Back Tek.

Plays both positions, plus right back according to Utd website

Apparently the possession thing Airdrie did in the 2nd half is their main tactic. They look to pull players out of position and hit on the break.

Folk at the game all screaming and moaning as Airdrie, one goal down, fannied about in their own half.

The one time we broke ranks they got through our defence.

Folk need to appreciate that it's a tactical game, allowing them loads of the ball when they're doing nothing with it is fine.

We then punished them the one time they were loose.

Also, possibly without the break in play, we'd have scored at least another 1 or 2, we were so far on top.

Spot on.

The amount of folk having kittens around me because we weren't closing down  a team 1 down passing about at the back was unbelievable.

I don't care how we win the league this season, and if it takes sitting off Airdrie at home I really don't care

Mon the Shed.

Ken m8, Ehm no saying that you're wrang and Ehm right, but abody kens what can happen wher yer just 1-0 up. A lucky break, a penalty, an own goal (we just managed to clear aff the line) and the gehm cheenges on the spot. There's nothing wrang we the tactics when yer 3-0 up but no 1-0.

In the end yer right tho, they walked a tightrope and thir luck ran oot, and as I sayed many times, a 1 nil win every gehm would dae me.

Absolutely if Airdrie want to pass it about aimlessly in their own half when their losing just let them . As you say the one time Glass tried to close down the keeper it allowed them to break for a rare scoring opportunity.
Tactics have to be correct.  It didn't make for a great spectacle but JG played the % game well.

Re: Dundee United vs Airdrie - Saturday 1st September

Thought we started great, and after Cudjoe scored thought we'd go on to hammer them.   Think the long break in play stopped that and we could not get going again in the first half.

Second half sums up everything I hate about the game these days.  Airdrie playing the game "the right way" and going fucking nowhere.  Walton had one save to make.

Had a feeling their keeper would come a cropper and didn't he half eh.
