Passed away 1 year ago today.

Still seems very sad and shocking 12 months on.

Would be nice if he entered our Hall of Fame posthumously,and maybe some other kind of acknowledgement of his life/career by the club.

2nd goal v Borussia greatest moment in my time supporting United. In fact that game was our finest hour. Legend, sad still that he felt the need to take his own life. Agree the club should do something to mark his passing. Felt their response at the time was disappointing. No minutes silence/applause was poor for a club legend and considering we seem to have them for things nothing to do with football all to often.

Mate i was very dissapointed that we never requested a minutes silence when we travelled upto Inverness.

Dundee and Sevco both had minutes silence the same day.

No excuse tbh.

Can't believe it's 367 days since I bought his autobiography.

Agree wholeheartedly on final paragraph.

Was it not the case that United planned to have one at a game v St Johnstone that was cancelled?

The Inverness game was a good bit after the passing IIRC

The Inverness game was just a day or 2 after his death (1-1 draw Keith Watson scored).

The St.Johnstone game that was postponed was nearly 3 weeks later.

I still just can't get over the fact listening to him on Off the Ball less than 2 weeks before on route to the St. Johnstone game in Perth. Was one of the better shows as well and he sounded on form talking about his book. I can only think that the writing of his book may have brought past demons out. Very sad.

Yeah but I think they planned to do one at Tannadice at the St Johnstone game because that was the 1st home game we had following his death.

It was just one of those things.

Tragic. He used to spend a lot of time on Twitter speaking to United fans and answering questions that folk put to him. Had a few conversations with him. I'm not one for the whole grief thing but I was moved when he passed.

Was one of my favourites from that UEFA Cup team.

Get the feeling the club sort of hastily arranged the planned minutes silence against St.Johnstone after (rightfully) getting criticism for not bothering to arrange it up in Inverness.

Agree in principle but surely it would have been more fitting for the respect to be showed at Tannadice rather than up in Inverness for a game on a Sunday which was on TV where there wouldn't have been a lot of United fans there

Wonderful moment bud, pity he didn't show the same composure off the park. As said, a tragic loss of a man who WE thought had it all. Just goes to show eh!

In an ideal World,yes you would want the tribute to be at Tannadice.

But by leaving it 3 weeks we ran the risk of ...well what happened.The game being postponed.

Anyway in the past now.Dissapointed the fans never got to pay their respects but the club could go a wee way to make up for this by inducting him into the HoF and letting the fans bring the house down when his names called out.

Let's be honest, as harsh as it may sound we cant make a brass statue of everyone who played for the UWF but a concrete Victor fountain is not beyond our budget

Not saying he should have a statue or stand or owt named after him Saint Ob.

But the man who scored the winner in a European Semi Final..a EUROPEAN SEMI FINAL jesus (sounds mental now),should definitely have some sort of acknowledgement fae the club where he played his best football and being lucky enough to have had a few private convos with him on Twitter i can assure you that Utd and Utd supporters and those glory days were very close to his heart.

Just a sad sad outcome.
