Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

Not sure if i'm attending this one yet.Just few miles along the road but a Monday night in the middle of January, and live on the telly.Prices really should be £10 and £5 for this.Doubt it though.

The team for me HAS to be.

.............Czierniak............
Dillon..Morris..Fojut..Townsend
...........Butcher..Telfer............
GMS....Armstrong..Erskine.....
................Ciftci..............

Subs -

Szromnik
Dow
Watson
Rankin
Connolly
Spittal
Paton

*If Paton trains this week he should make the bench. If Morris trains he should be straight back in the side.If Morris is still out Dillon must play at CH and i would put Spittal at RB.Not confident at all for this game.We totally flopped the last time we played on astroturf (Killie) and Accies have got a real good, energetic, strong team just now who work their bollocks off too and constantly press you.We will have to be right up for it to win this game. Can we finally put together a strong 90 minute performance and maybe even keep a clean sheet?*

I like Rankin but he's having a pretty poor season imo.

Telfer looks ready to be a big player for us.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

Ranks played pretty well v Sellick against Broony in what was basically a 4141, cos Butcher doesn't really do the holding role.

Telfer will most definitely be one of our main players very shortly, but not convinced it'll be 1 of the 2 in a 4231.

maybe thats it bugs mate..the 4-2-3-1 suits the forward players we have but not those that are in the baresi/maldini mould....brilliant at times, frustrating at others...

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

They ran the legs off of us last time we played them and they seem to have returned to the same kind of form. I'd play as mobile/nippy a team as we've got. Their centre halves are shite as well and I'd like to see us mix it up with 2 (TWO) up top.

Rado

Watson (Dillon if Morris fit)
Dillon (Morris if fit)
Fojut
Townsend

Connolly
Telfer
Butcher
GMS

Dow
Ciftci

Subs: Pole in Goal 2, Wilson, Armstrong, Erskine, Rankin, Spark (Watson if Morris fit), Spittal.

Too much commotion

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

I'll be there with bells on. It's not going to be pretty, the game that is not me with bells on.

Main change for me would have to be Watson. Rankin possibly for Telfer so a less defensive midlfield, but still having 2 in front of a deeper sitting 2 to try and create some space in the middle and control and keep the ball, ultimately frustrating them. That won't happen though, as we don't change to specifically combat the team we are playing against so I will keep dreaming.

Agree with this tbh. I'd maybe keep Dillon but when Watson and Rado's deals run out it should be time to see. "Thanks for your service but you're free to find another club"

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

I wouldn't want to see any of them leave tbh and I'm not sure any of these 3 mentioned would want to leave either, certainly wouldn't want to see Watson in a Dundee or Rangers strip! from a selfish point of view he would be the one to flourish from a move and come back to haunt us i reckon.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

Think Rado is away for sure. Watson would end up at a bottom 6 club but he's injured a lot and certainly isn't a first team pick. Think it's time for him to go. Apparently he is leaving in anycase.

Dillon is a difficult one because he can play in a number of positions. The problem is he isn't a stand out in any of them and he'll no doubt be one of the highest earners due to how long he has been here.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

I'm thinking petty much the same as you HbaF. Dillion definitely has is uses and a utility type player in a squad shouldn't be sniffed at too much. They usually are slightly under appreciated due to the fact they aren't stand out in any position like you say, but very important all the same.

Only thing with Rado is would be good to see how good our current back up actually is first.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

Dillon certainly has his uses because he's been absolutely superb in a number of positions this season, including his alien LB.

Don't have a problem with Rado's, at present on loan, back up.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

I'd like to keep all 3 if i'm honest.

By the same token i don't think any 3 of them should be guaranteed first team fitba and i think that may very well be the stumbling block when considering their next move rather than looking to earn any more cash elsewhere (In Watson and Dillon's case i doubt they could get a bigger move than Utd at this stage in their career anyway).

All decent squad players though imo (Rado outstanding when on form),and all would still do a job when called upon to start games for a good while yet.Just my opinion though.

I think Keef and Rado are defo away though.Dillon might stay though i think.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

I would also love to keep all three.

Reckon Rado could be homesick/missing family, Jackie maybe thinks Keef can't stop a cross well enough, and Dillo would walk over hot coals to get his deserved testimonial.

Time will tell, and in Jackie I trust.

Celtic never even trained on Rugby park and took the piss out of Killie. Granted we're no Killie but I think we should be at least matching Killie and Hamilton. Draw's a decent result.

Re: Hamilton Accies V's Dundee Utd - Monday 12th January 7.45pm

The plastic pitch is an absolute disaster at Hamilton. It is used all the time and is well past its use by date. Last time I played on it my hips knees and ankles were friar tucked for a week. Get the excuses in early

Has a match on a plastic pitch ever been called aff due to being 'waterlogged'?

It's rained now in South Lanarkshire for 4 days in a row.And when i say 'rained' i mean of biblical proportions.

Probably during a game or if the surrounding area is flooded etc but surely adequate drainage has been installed with any pitch laid nowadays
