Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

1984-85 strip was my first United strip. Class even if the badge peeled off.

1987-89 best strips imho.

Too much commotion

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

The Asics ones are my all time favourite United shirts.

First away kit I got was that white one.

I still wear the home one to semi finals/finals.

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

My first tops were the Asics home and away ones from '89, really liked it then and still do. Personal like the 87-89 Adidas/Belhaven numbers.

I'm sure there is another site somewhere that documents them all as well, but not quite the same detail as the legomen are displaying.

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

I saw a picture of Andy Gray in the black & white Wycombe Wanderers style kit in the window of DC Thompson in Ward road a couple of years ago, one thing that I recal of the shirt was there was no badge and the manufacturer of the shirt was Umbro.

Going by Andy Gray wearing the kit it qas probably circa 1971 - 73.

Hope this is of some help.

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

The original adidas ones before we won the league are the best...79-83...
87-88 Belhaven sponsors logo are better than a dark black patch with writing...always better just the letters on the strip

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

Liked all those strips and had a fair few of them as a bairn.

Something better about plain strips IMO.

Best strip this season I've seen is the Hertz strip.

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

Never thought Paul Paton would make a good model but he seems to carry this quality clobber with a rare smile. Well done Mixu, the 1982-83 short sleeved away is my favourite closely followed by the different materials used in the similar looking 1983-84 strip that had slightly shaded horizontal lines across it.
Reminds me of a lad called Ralph who shared some great stories about United again last night. Privileged

Favourite strip is 66/67 away, probably because it was the first I wore. 94 away is a very close 2nd.

Can't remember a checked shirt in the 60's.

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

93-94 away is a stand out as always in more ways than one.

Re: DUFC strips of the 80's

As far a as ive been told the checked kit was a one off and was never seen again but ive heard it from a few people so its must have been a borrowed kit.
