Anyone know the latest with him?
Not heard a peep from the club but would imagine we would be trying to get him off the wage bill.
Decent player when fit but far too often he’s unavailable for selection.

He's a decent player but I said at the time giving him a 2 year deal was daft with his injury issues. Unsurprisingly he's not played for us through injury for the majority of it.
A waste of a wage.
Hopefully we can offload him in the window but can't see many takers given his injury issues.

One in a long series of examples of ineptitude...

He was pictured in training just the other day prior to the Rangers match.
So, his omission from the Reserve team for yesterday's match is surprising. Unless they are that desperate to offload him this window, that they daren't risk him getting any type of injury.
A monumental waste of money over four years. And on a hefty wage too.

This is what happens when non football people start meddling with football. You can add the extension to Connolly and the extension to Glass (6th loan) to this list.
Hibs are currently in the same predicament but maybe to a greater extent as they signed a lot of duds in the summer. They have the American owner's son in charge of recruitment.

In defence of Pawlett, he reportedly took a significant drop in wages to sign again, and he is meant to be excellent in talking the younger lads through training and games. If he was playing with Achilles tendonitis/tendonosis with injections, we never saw the best of him, and if that issue has been fixed, I think he can still offer us something valuable. Fantastic first touch on the turn under pressure and causes a lot of problems with his direct running.
Don't doubt what you are saying CA about his attitude with the younger lads and that is absolutely required at every club however we need guys match fit and available most weeks as a priority right now.
As Rick mentions above unfortunately this was easily predicted when he originally signed and astonished most United fans when we extended his contract. The physios must have been dreading the news that day when it was confirmed their workload would increased for the next two seasons.
Ive seen we bits in him but we need more than that, my fear for the boy is that it’s curtains for his playing career.
One thing that can’t be faulted is his fighting spirit to come back time after time.

Last sentence I agree with, honestly still think he has something to offer, would rather him playing instead of harkes in the position he currently playing
The massive BUT though can his body cope with it
I’ve completely forgot we have Jamie McGrath again, I’d have him in before both them 🤣

He has very little to offer us. He simply cant last 90 minutes when playing and isnt going to have the fitness levels required to start a match for us any time soon. For all Harkes faults he generally puts a shift in and works hard
