Without Googling (because what's the point?).
Which former Dundee United player later in his life moved Stateside and in a stunning career move, changed sports and turned out for NFL side the Houston Oilers in the position of 'placekicker'?

Ronnie O'Brian?
Guy who was allegedly signed by Juventus, was then loaned to united where he was murder, and then moved to America?

I mind oe him. Irish midfielder. Must be 20 year ago. Think Alex Smith would be the gaffer at the time.
He went aff to Dallas, did he no move to Canada?
Canna say I ken what happened to him after that.

Me.
Think I said before my old man was mates with him. Remember as a nipper visiting his house (near Blairgowrie if I remember correctly) and playing football in the local park/gardens. He was still good then and could smoke while playing! So much so he burnt my arm when I tried to get the ball off him! Died at 40 - very sad.

Your name sake it was indeed.
The man had an extraordinary life.
Played for Utd, scored a winning goal in the Nou Camp in Utd's first ever European victory. Played in the top flight in Holland with Utrecht. Won the Norwegian Championship with his boyhood heroes, Lyn F.C.
Represented his country in not just one but two sports (football and bandy), and then to cap it all off plays for an NFL side in a 3rd different sport.
All in 40 years.
He tragically died in a car crash aged just 40 in his hometown of Dovre, Norway.
I hope the 'Texas' connection isn't lost on some btw.
Played for Utd under the guise of the 'Dallas Tornadoes' of course in the Summer of '67. A move that led Utd to famously adopt the Tornadoes bright orange strip.
And then years later moved to the 'Lone Star' states biggest city and played American Football for the Houston Oilers in the position of placekicker.
A fascinating arc, and ties in nicely with the amazing life story of the great man.
It's a shame the club doesn't do more to portray legends like this within the doors of Tannadice tbh. Perhaps time to consider a small museum inside the stadium where stories of legends like Finn Seemann and others can be told and the history of the club at large.

My old man was a Dee before meeting Finn. So I'm very grateful for that relationship!
My favourite Finn story (treat with a slight pinch of salt as it might have been exaggerated over the years) was my old man and others inviting him for his first round of golf at Cairdie - he shot 75!
I don't think Finn is in the Hall of Fame either

Jings. I can actually remember him playing for us. Think it was for more than 1 Season.

Great question and enjoyed reading the trivia there.

Wow what a story !
Remember him well as a player, right wing wasn't he, he'd skin his man, be on an outrageous angle, there would be a cutback on or you'd think him down a blind alley, but no. He'd absolutely rocket it goalward, nearly caught a lot of goalies out, not to mention when he first came surprise everyone watching.
What a boy, what a story.
Car crash at 40, sad.
