Re: an out and out striker

Thierry Henry is available after spending 4 years in the MLS and he did say he was suitably impressed with Dundee United after the referee handed Barcelona a pre season friendly victory at Tannadice and a badly needed boost after being crushed by the Terrors in the previous 4 meetings. I reckon Le Sulk would be the perfect foil for the Turkish Hulk. Aye if only

He's not a bad striker mate, but at least a year away from being ready for first team football.

My thoughts too.

Big Ola is doing just great and his progress is not going unnoticed.

But it's worth remembering that he was only signed as a professional in the Summer and has played in the Development side for only 4 months.

This time next year i think he could be knocking on the 1st team door.Same goes for Jordan Moore who's lost 18 months of his development now.

If Ciftci gets injured would any of you guys really fancy our chances in a Final against say,Celtic.with Bilate or Dow upfront?

We need a striker.

Ola has improved about 1,000,000 % this season but is still nowhere near 1st team material. Pop long balls behind their back 4 and he'll do a decent job but as the 1 in a 4231, looking to hold and link, you'd be as well playing Keef or Pates there.

We could certainly do with an ego free squad striker willing to fight for his place in the meantime.

Maybe Thierry can have a word with his French pal's Benzema and Pogba, they'd make our squad anyway.

Re: an out and out striker

Seemingly we've signed Simon Murray from Arbroath for 50 grand despite him a) only having played half a season this season b) playing Junior for Tayport and Violet after returning from Australia c) being out of contract at the end of the season. These things dont bother me apart from paying the fee which seems excessive and frankly, daft.

Too much commotion

d) scoring 18 goals so far.

Re: an out and out striker

Indeed, the same amount that Brian Graham scored at the same stage when we signed him, albiet Graham was playing 2 divisions higher.

Re: an out and out striker

Fair enough, but still worth mentioning. Think we all know he's not going to replace Nads if he's sold this window.

I'm still willing to give him a chance in the medium/long term.

Re: an out and out striker

The laddie will get my 100% support. Some players are late developers. Look at Rickie Lambert who worked his way up from non-league to Premiership through his twenties. Seemingly the fee is 20 grand with 30 grand of add-ons which is not too bad.

God yes.

Brilliant player.

John Collins brought him to Livi from his french contacts.

Maybe not quite good enough to play wek in week out for Celtic, but certainly good enough for us.Under contract till March 2016 though.

If we are splashing the cash why not offer 150k for this boy who's at the perfect age, scores goals, would be in our wage bracket,a player we could possibly sell on for higher amount?

Not a striker but if we sell GMS or Amstrong i would hope we could tempt him to Tannadice.

Re: an out and out striker

Kris Boyd is being linked again allegedly. In every Sunday paper today.
Off topic Stephen Thompson has allegedly been told Newcastle Jets are now not for sale by Nathan Tinkler and United allegedly after Partick Thistle right back Stephen o'Donnell.

Re: an out and out striker

Find that a wee biitty strange about Kris Boyd. He was seen coming out of Dens during the week, after presumably getting told to pack his bags and find another Club by the Ringers.

Re: an out and out striker

If we could get him fit and firing IMO he would be a great signing, he was THE reason Killie stayed up last year and you don't become totally shite overnight, unless your Torres!

Re: an out and out striker

I wouldn't object to Boyd signing. Sevco will hike up the fee because its us though. The other problem is that Boyd looks overweight again compared to last season when he was in good shape so would need time to get into shape which is fine if you sign him during the summer but not if it is in January. He won't sign for us anyway.

Re: an out and out striker

Can't see how Kris Boyd fits into our system at all, not the type of striker we need at all.

Doubt they would be wanting a fee tbh. Think they need to shed their wage bill.

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: an out and out striker

I don't get this he not the type of striker we need. He is a stiker who scores goals that is exactly what we need. Yeh good point why on earth would McNamara be interested in the SPL record goal scorer.

Re: an out and out striker

He was a striker who scored goals, that much is true, would he add to our team with the link up play that is required from our striker to create these chances for him to score all these goals you think he'd get? I'm not so sure he would
