First proper friendly later today.
Hopefully see a strong performance and a win.

Interesting first half, 0-0.
Sunderland players are clearly quicker and stronger than ours, they probably should be ahead, two good chances missed by their big striker.

Well that was stinking eh? Just a pre-season game so I guess we shouldn’t be too judgemental but that did look like a repeat of last season’s pish stuff.
Cudjoe and Glass did ok when they came on I thought but not much else to be positive about.
Hopefully Levitt and Fletcher can improve things.

Cudjoe probably MoM. Shows how game is all about opinions, I thought Glass was dreadful when he came on. 3 times he gave the ball away because he didn’t look before passing. Mind you he might have learned that from Mulgrew.
Like last season we got to final 3rd and it all fell to pieces. Still need a good 5 or 6 players to be anywhere near competitive. I fear we will get another 2 maximum. Probably the keeper and McGrath.

We were bloody unlucky. Two freak goals.
We move on stronger.

We were pish tbh. Deserved a defeat no matter how the goals came.
Some decent performances but I just sat there bored at what I was watching. The ref certainly didn't help but we showed zero attacking threat in the first half.
We need at least 4 more in the door.

These games are about fitness. Performances are irrelevant at this stage.
All about ramping up towards Rugby Park.

Thats not what Jack Ross said in his Port Vale pre-match. Wasn't happy with performance levels. Do you disagree with him?

Of course it's just a pre season game so the result is irrelevant especially against a side that will likely have a decent season in the championship.
But we looked like a team who had just started pre season, lots of work to be done before the season starts.
Also the team and the bench today highlighted that we need players in badly, hopefully more than just the keeper from down under(who appears to be coming in as our No1 this season) and McGrath.

A stunning and brave performance against the Netflix giants.
Massive credit must go to Jack Ross, Tony Asghar, Adam Asghar and everyone behind the scenes at the club.👏👏👏👏👏

Apart from the last 12 mins, I didna really enjoy the game.
No doubt in my mind that Sunderland were much in control of the game. They seemed to have a man everywhere and their passing was excellent.
Their 1st was bizarre, Ericson seemed to get his fingertips to it, but it went out to 1 of their guys who with a bizarre header found the net. The 2nd well. There's far too much back-passing, and its been going on far to long in my book. But even so, you don't pass back straight towards your own goal - you go across the bows, esp. when the keeper is on the 18 yard line.
We came alive for the last 12 mins, when we had them penned in, but it all came to nothing. In the end they probably could have beaten anybody below Hearts.
MOTM for me Tony Watt, with Cudjoe getting 2nd place.

Second goal was a nightmare, I think the keeper is more to blame than Muldrow.
Basic schoolboy goalkeeping is that when you aren't actively involved, draw a line from the ball to the goal and that's where your position should be. Instead, he tried to be smart and make an angle for a cross field pass, which Mulgrew wasn't aware of.

The 2nd goal is 80/20 Mulgrews fault. You don’t pass back to the keeper “between the posts”
Best get the howlers out the way now eh..
I try not to judge too much after a friendly, but Ross’ comments after the game are telling. Says he wants 4 outfield players in.

I thought young Meekison was our stand out.
Sibbald was alright. He’s not much of an attacking midfielder, see him playing a deeper role.
Watt was decent.
Rory worked hard but bar a couple flashes, didn’t get into the game much as I hoped he would.
No idea why we put Smith in to CM. Boys just never a CM.
Finally, Chalmers. Really want him to do well and seen a couple of glimpses of him flashing a ball in. But he genuinely fixed his hair more than he touched the ball. Counted 4 fixes in 10secs. Lad, either tie it back or f*cling cut it aff.

Declan Glass / Logan Chalmers.
In my opinion, both in ‘now or never’ category. Haven’t ever been impressed with either. Granted, neither has had a good run.

Both 22 now, so no longer kids.
Glass was unlucky to lose a year of his development due the terrible injury he got on his Partick debut. Then just as he was coming good for Utd around last Xmas we (stupidly imo) shipped him off to Killie, where he never played much. It's a tough one because i think there is definitely a talented player in him. But he needs a long run of games and i doubt we are gonna give him that. The young lad who was wowing people whilst on loan at Cove seems a long, long time ago now.
I think it will be a real shame if Utd let him go, but i think that day is getting close.
Chalmers has had more chances at Utd and has just never really shown himself to be good enough.
