Gonna pop along to Maryhill for this yin.Anyone else making it ?Not too hopeful the game will go ahead though considering their pitch was badly waterlogged just yesterday.Fingers crossed it's ok and we can hit a bit of consistent form now.
Team would have tae be the same one that dismantled Dundee, injuries permitting.Though i would personally swap Watson to RB and like to see Dillon in the middle.

I don't think even Jackie could change the side after ygst result, totally different game though so maybe.
I personally thought Watson was very good at centre half yesterday and would keep him there if Morris still out.
That pushes Soapy further down the pecking order IMO, would like to see him loaned out to a Championship side this month where he'll hopefully get 20 games before the end of the season.

Surprised at Keef playing at CB but absolutely delighted with his performance (possibly cos he didn't have to stop a cross
).
Happy medium between the no nonsense Morris and silky/bombscare Soapy.

Paton for Rankin would do me.

1. Rankin, fortunately for him, gives the left sided balance of the 2.
2. Rankin, fortunately for us, is showing good form, especially v Broony.
3. Paton, fortunately for him, is available again.
4. Butcher would be one of the first names on my teamsheet with Squiddy right now.
Good luck wi' that, Jackie.

Rankin is far from good form. He was decent once we got on top of the game yesterday after a shite start and was our worst player with ease against St Johnstone.

If paton comes back in has to be for Rankin no danger should butcher be dropped unless injured.
Cant make game fly back offshore sunday dinner time.

I only watched the game on my laptop so cannae really say how good, bad or indifferent Watson was at Centre Half with any certainty tbh Andy.I did think he got caught out at their 2nd goal though.I also think he offers more attacking threat at RB than Dillon so that's part of my thinking there.
I think a months loan to a Raith Rovers or Cowdenbeath would help Soapy not only keep match fit but also help him get consistent form going. Not sure we have a strong enough squad to justify letting him go anywhere at the moment though.

Id think we can cope sending him out for a month atleast

Are Celtic not playing on Sunday? We could put some real pressure on them with 3 points
Offline

Monday isn't it?
Offline

Aye Celtic are Monday.
Which means we could go above them.
2 nil defeat it is then.![]()

We win Sun, Aberdeen win and Celtic lose their fans will hit the panic button big time.
Offline

It certainly would put the pressure on them a wee bit on Monday if we both won on Sunday.

We are not going to win the league but if we put together a wee run of 4 wins on trot it'd be great to still be in hunt come Feb

Bad news is it is absolutely pissing it doon tonight through here.
If it keeps up intae tomorrow i don't see how the game has a chance.
I'm through that neck of the woods on Sunday regardless.Hope tae fuck it's with the added sweetener of getting tae see Utd ffs.![]()

Its meant to clear up for the weekend apparemtly.
If Aberdeen win on Sunday, Celtic won't go top for two weeks minimum. Hopefully we put the pressure on them with a win, too.
Absolute scenes if Kilmarnock nick something or its called off meaning more fixture pile up for Celtic.

Planning a trip thru, hopefully, so hoping the weather eases a bit. Would imagine same team if everyones fit. Good thing is theres options in just about every position now (barring the obvious striker shortage) if someone doesnt make it. No way we should be sending Souttar anywhere, we'll need him without doubt over the next few months.

Thought he was excellent v Sellick, but there you go.
Any thoughts on the left sided balance?

Don't really think it matters much in midfield. Also: Butcher's style of play, i.e driving forward a lot more means he can drift inside if he needs to use his right foot.
Probably a bit silly comparing but Fabregas/Matic play on opposite sides for Chelsea. Regarding Rankin versus Celtic, he didn't have to pass the ball and retain possession against them which suited him as he could just press them and win the ball back.
He should not be used against most teams, IMO.

Probably right, with Butch playing, it's no longer 4231 and becomes 4141 and the balance of the 2 is irrelevant.
However, Ranks played Broony perfectly.
So, think we're agreed that he deserves a place in the team when required and, tbh, Jackie is best placed to decide that?

Any news on pitch yet tek?? our bus leaves at 11.45 so imagine game on unless its a 10am pitch inspection

That is probably fair. Dundee really suit him, two good games against them this season. Its when he has to pass the ball about and have more influence he is pretty shite.
