Little known fact....well two

The first ever live Scottish football match to be broadcast on Satellite television in the entire UK was broadcast on 13th March 1991 on the newly formed BSKYB station (later to just become SKY). My understanding is this was also the first British match to be shown on BskyB, full stop.

The match was a Scottish Cup Quarter Final.

Dundee Utd 3 (R.McKinnon, D.Jackson, D.Ferguson)
Dundee 1 (B.Dodds)

Richard Keys and Andy Gray talking at the end of the game about something they've never seen before, whilst observing the Utd 1st team squad running together on the Tannadice pitch/track post-match.

A 'warm down'.

Now, of course, universally recognised in British and World football as a vital component in a Pro's matchday routine.

Utd's sprint coach at the time Stuart Hogg apparently the first person to introduce them to football, whilst at Utd.

Excellent!! Although I don’t believe the warm down bit as everyone knows that the Funsters did everything first. 😂

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

I'm sure our game against Partick Thistle at the start of the 13/14 season (0-0) was also the first live football match broadcast on BT Sport.

Marty, what a great spot! That's one of my favourite ever games,  I assumed it wasn't recorded for Sportscene or Scotsport as I haven't seen the goals on TV or internet before.

Had this game in tape for years and watched it over and over.  Can see me and my mates in the Shed at the end of the game there just before Jackson’s interview.
