Re: January Window Rumours

Reynolds gone. Surely steeling ourselves for a new arrival?

Don't think we saw the best version of him but can't fault him at all

A great servant but an ever better man.

But for an entire team cast in his base image.

Re: January Window Rumours

Are we not a bit light at the back now?

I'd only trust Mulgrew and Edwards at CH. And we still ridiculously only have 1 LB (been like that for about 5 years now).

Record Sport, saying once the Kerr Smith deal is finalised, we will move for Watt.

Not sure I’d be parting with six figures right now but if he hits the ground running & grabs a couple early goals I’ll forget all about that

Kev McDonald training with us too.
33 and 6ft 4.

On the face of it, spending 6 figures on a lad who we have already secured for free in June and then his wages (which are reportedly substantial) on top of that, does seem a big outlay for a club with our debt levels.

I suppose another way of looking at it though is if none of us knew about the pre-contract or even an interest in the player and then Utd just announced out of the blue that we had signed the Premiership's current top scorer for 100k we'd all be buzzing and praising the club for an ambitious capture.

For me it simply comes down to how much of that 100k is the budget for this window. If that is the entire budget even allowing for the Kerr Smith transfer and we spunk it all on Watt, then that would be a foolish move and it would be better spent securing another freebie Striker on loan (like Shankland) and another couple like a right winger and attacking central midfielder.

If we can, however, get Watt and still then sign another couple, then by all means the club should.

On Kev McDonald. He's 33, a defensive midfielder and hasn't played for ages. Seems a signing we don't need.

No harm in having a look i suppose, but he'd need to really stand-out in training and be better than what we have for his signing to be justified. Maybe we are just offering the lad training facilities.

Kev’s an unbelievably gifted footballer, if he can get himself fit, he’d probably instantly be our best player. Would be a very good replacement for Levitt in terms of his range of passing.

A few boys I know are good mates with Kev, so trying to find out whether we’ve just given him training facilities as we’re local for him, or if there’s a chance of him signing.

Any update? He would be a decent signing.

Re: January Window Rumours

Kevin's in for training but unlikely to sign. It's an area of the pitch we're particularly strong in.

As for the other signings, patience is a virtue ;-)

Re: January Window Rumours

Heard that tomorrow is likely to be Tony Watt day.

Debut on Tuesday v St Mirren

It would be ideal from a marketing view with the new third strip coming out and with the sale of Smith.

I would throw him straight in vs St Mirren on Tuesday.

I wouldn’t describe our midfield as Strong apart from Fuchs on a good day.

My wish for the second half of the season is that the young boys in the squad step up and start playing more. Glass, Watson and Meekieson have all shown in parts they are capable but like all young lads they are inconsistent but with what’s playing in front of them I don’t think they will get a better chance.

Re: January Window Rumours

It’s Tony Watt day, brilliant signing, game we played them at fir park not along ago I came away with a severe dislike with him with the amount of soft as fuck free kicks he was getting Motherwell up the pitch, fingers crossed he can keep his form up at us
