Only his 2nd ever Utd goal today and his first since way back in July 2018 when he notched in a 4-0 win against Elgin in the Betfred.
Starting to get back to the massive potential he showed very briefly for us in the Championship winning season.
That goal today was special. Haven't seen a Utd player score a goal of that individual brilliance in years.
Think this boy can be a huge player if managed/coached correctly.
That attacking part of his game really needs encouraged. Boy has bags of natural ability.
Yeah he is special Tek.
That goal was incredible.
Maybe better enjoy him whilst we can.

Which leaves me mystified why Glass was sitting on the bench till 62'
No tae mention off early v Huns and the week before.
Great goal tho'
Chalmers another immense talent that for whatever reason we desperately need but raely see any of.
Worth looking into Shakey....
Hibs (A) Oct 16 was his comeback game after long-term injury lest we forget. So...
HIBS (A) - strating X!. Went off for Biamou (82 mins)
M'WELL (H) - unused sub
LIVI (A) - starting XI, off for Fuchs (60 mins)
ST J (H) - unused sub
HEARTS (A) - starting XI, replaced by Biamou (62 mins)
ABERDEEN (H) - sub, came on for Pawlett (68mins)
ROSS CO (A) - unused sub
M'WELL (A) - starting XI, replaced by Clark (42 mins)
CELTIC (H) - unused sub
LIVI (H) - starting XI, replaced by Meekison (86 mins)
NEW RANGERS (A) - starting XI, replaced by Appere (58 mins)
HIBS (H) - sub, came on for Mochrie (62 mins)
Make out of that what you will, a trifle baffling perhaps?
Protecting his comeback after long-term injury?

First of all great goal, just the the kind of goal i like to see.
I think the reason he's not quite getting the game time is what he like when the opposition has the ball, I dont think the manager completely trusts him. If you look at hibs 2nd goal yesterday he switches off allowing the hibs player to get in and cut it back for the goal.

Think his recent improvement has been the result of being played in a much more advanced position just off the striker. Tam seemed to have this notion that Glass would be better playing as an orthodox central midfielder, even starting some as the deep lying one but barring the Hibs game at Easter Road he's looked like a fish out of water in that position. Tbh, he can count himself lucky he lasted 42 mins at Fir Park, I'd have hooked him after he flogged their first goal. He gave the ball away every time he had it that night and was completely overwhelmed by their bigger, quicker and stronger midfielders. Anyway, he can count himself unlucky not to start yesterday imho and his goal was top class and reminiscent of the type he used to score every week when he was on loan at Cove.

Watched Glass's goal a good few times now and noticed one weird thing.
No Utd players run to him and he himself doesn't celebrate the goal in anyway.
Fucks that all about?
Glass's goal was scored in the 90th minute to make the score 1-2 & when that happens the reaction is to have muted celebrations & get the ball back on the centre spot as quickly as possible.
Had it been the equaliser or dare I say the winning goal, the celebrations would have been mental, especially seeing how brilliant the goal was.

Why would he spend time celebrating, we were getting beat with seconds to go. The normal protocol in that situation is to grab the ball and sprint for the restart, to get the ball back in play as quickly as possible. Would have been very odd if the goal had been celebrated.

The boy just scored a Worldie to get us back in the game.
Surely worthy of a pat on the back from someone enroute towards the centre spot.

..... ffs, debate about nothing here.
but....
D'ye mind ae big John Daly 'gainst AEK (I think) scored in 90', we'd tae get 2.
Picked the ball up and back to centre spot faster than I'd ever seen him run.
Would Man U have won the Oleg Gunnar final if they'd have stuffed around wi celebrations ?
Nope.

Good research man.
Tell you one thing I do make of is that none of the young laddies gets a consistent 90'
Having said that the only ones that do are Benji, back four and mebbe Fuchs and Harkes.
This in turn caused by perennial inability to find target man and thus shape.
If we can't find shape we're on back foot, which was Ok when back in the dim & distant when our back four was best in league, we'd aye nick a win.
We've been found out, if you're opposing coach you rub your hands facing us - target man Clark, backup shuffle the pack.
... Brings us back to our desparate need to find target man .... and mebbe our deperate need of somebody to go out and find that target man.

Big John scored in the 78th min
And the Ole Gunnar example isn't really the same as the first goal was an equaliser, celebrated wildly, and the second goal was a winner, celebrated even more wildly.
A better example is Gareth Bale's third goal for Spurs away to Inter in 2010. He'd just scored a breathtaking hat-trick, in a a career defining display, but ultimately his team were still 4-3 down, so he grabbed the ball and ran back.
Same vibes with Declan.

Sadly, due to the Covid circumstances, Declan's 'worldie' has not had the accolade it deserves. .
A miserly attendance-restricted Boxing Day crowd of 500, a freezing day with driving rain with little or no atmosphere.
And the fact his goal was no more than a 90th minute consolation, imagine if that goal had been a 90th minute winner.
But the atmosphere was grim & I can't remember ever feeling so downright miserable at Tannadice. I actually felt sorry for the players.
But nothing should take away the sheer quality of his goal, surely it has to be ranked in the top 10 brilliant goals seen at Tannadice in living memory.
Fabulous Declan Glass, I'm sure we'll be talking about that goal in 10 years time.
Can't wait to watch more of the same in the 2nd half of the season.
Well we'll not be watching Declan the 2nd half of the season unless we get on our Killie scarves.
We do have a glut of midfielders right enough but why's he not on the short list?
His presence in our midfield at Dens last night might have seen us celebrating a win, it wouldn't have taken much for him to stand out.
Seems like he's not a teacher's pet at Tannadice.

Comical really. He would have been perfect to bring on second half. Better than Pawlett anyway.

Good luck to Declan in Ayrshire. Kilmarnock are a proper club and Derek McInnes will take good care of him, I've no doubt.

Deco clearly not rated at Tannadice.
Always thought we made a mistake bringing him back from Cove halfway through the season, where he was in great form, to let him rot on the bench here. Hasn't got much better for him since.

Actually thought Pawlett triggered an improvement in us.
Levitt for me was anonymous. Glass could have offered more.
Anyway, good luck Deco. Maybe the next Utd Manager will
believe in you.

Utterly bewildering.
No surprise given Tam's muddled thinking.
No doubts McInnes will get more out of him than Tam's consigning him to splinters.
I'll be very pleased if and when we see him back in Tangerine.
Good luck Deco.
..............
You'd have to wonder what all this muddled thinking is doing for dressing room morale.
Not much good I can't imagine...

You're right re Pawlett. Nothing against the guy, but I just don't think he's a 'luxury' we can afford. He's not capable of doing more than a 20 minute 'impact' substitute stint (given we have stopped having a go from kick off - I don't see the point in him compared to someone who can actually play 90 minutes).

Early season he was doing 90 minutes no problem.
