I've kept quiet as I was accused of being a dundee fan, but I'd like to think that most of my recent comments have been vindicated, especially as I said Fuchs was out of form, we had little chance at Tynecastle, we'd do well to get a draw in Livingston, and that St Johnstone home would be a really difficult game (I did get my prediction that we had no chance of scoring at Tynecastle wrong though).
I think we're finding our level now, a decent bottom six jobbing team, who will hopefully not be in any relegation danger but are also a considerable distance away from the big boys. As I've said before, I'd be happy enough with 10th or above this year, especially as we rarely look like scoring more than one goal in a game.
Saturday confirmed to me as aren't likely to make the top six.

I'm with Tek on this - not to worried about the result. We played some good stuff again but we are almost the opposite of what MM brought us in terms of an ability to close play down and keep it tight. Granted we flogged 2 silly goals at the start of the game that maybe meant that we had to 'go for it', but we were so open it was unbelievable. Clearly Mulgrew wasn't fit (that's the danger of relying on older guys) and Edwards isn't the quickest so them playing the speedy Ginnelly through the middle just seemed to throw us. Every ball down the channel was an opportunity for them. Robbie did a number on Tam and it worked.
Difficult game for Smith to come in to and I thought that was it when they got the third, but we fought on and coming away with a draw didn't seem totally unlikely even after the 4th went in. Clearly the 5th killed it.
So I hope Courts can learn from this spell and we can get back to winning ways soon. I also don't think anyone is going to take points from Tynecastle very easily if they play like that. They made it look simple and we couldn't cope.

I was very underwhelmed with the Courts appointment and I still think Asghar is bad for the club, but that is too pessimistic. I've been following United for many a year and it doesn't take a medium to predict those games. Fuchs was never going to keep up the early season form and he has been handed the sole break up play role (without the insurance of Butcher) so he was always going to struggle to continue to look the player we have seen over the last few months. We've always struggled on the plastic at Livi (so have Celtic) so no big deal there arguably a point a good result. We've traded 1-0s with St Johnstone for years, but very rarely have we battered them like we did and still lost. Based in Edinburgh I have watched a lot of our games at Tynecastle and Easter Road and can confidently say that our performances in Edinburgh under Courts have been some of the best on show. Jambo and Hibbee mates have started saying that the team looks more like the team of the 80/90s and the football was much better. Yesterday a Jambo told me our second was one of the best goals he's seen at Tynecastle.
So we may only end up bottom six clear of relegation, but things are looking far far more positive than they have for years.
As for goals, we do clearly need a striker to take a game (Biamou may or may not turn out to be that man). However I think Gordon and Clark have saved more of our attempts in the last 2 weekends than we created in about a dozen games under Mellon. So I'm afraid you are wrong on that front - despite a lack of a proper striker we are a team who scores goals and pretty good ones at that.

Have to disagree with AU here, anyone watching that game saw a United team giving everything and playing a style of football we all want to see. Hearts were just better than us......I didn't see that gap between us and Hearts in the first game so i don't think we are miles behind them. My biggest disappointment from Saturday was when we did score, instead of us grabbing the game and getting on top, Hearts were able to get control again fairly quickly. Anyone worrying about our level and our performances nowadays never visited Alloa away ever!!!!!!
