A quick google shows that Shankland has failed to find the net in his first 6 games for his new club.
Still early days for him but maybe it was a bit too easy to blame everyone around for his failure to score in the top league.
Nonsense. We created very few chances for him last season and that culminated in him losing confidence. Unfortunately it looks like he has joined a team in a similar non-scoring rut. Suspect if their fortunes pick up that will be reflected in Shankland finding the net again. I see they had 2 defenders sent off in the first half at the weekend and Shanks was pulled after 8 minutes to allow them to replace one of the sent off defenders - nae luck...
If enjoying the good times isn't your style could you stop depressing us all on here then?
You've simply written off McNulty. What will you say once he starts scoring goals then as he most certainly will, remember he's a recent Scotland international player with pedigree.
And his work rate & enthusiasm are there to be seen, he's enjoying his game & just needs to start scoring. I'll wager he'll score more goals this season than Laurence did last season, not that that would be particularly difficult.
Goals are at a premium everywhere, every team is looking for strikers who can score more goals. Who would have thought that Griffiths would be goal-less after 4 games?

Ha ha - define good times - my quotation marks were intentional!
True, I am not really a McNulty fan. He's not a lead the line centre forward and he didn't really show up well last season as the foil to Shankland so I'm not really sure what type of player he is. I don't really get over-excited about the Scottish internationalist tag. He's never been even remotely close to that level at Tannadice and can't get a sniff for Reading who are now a mid-table championship team so he's clearly not at international level these days.
I agree he does seem to be trying harder this season which is a big uptick on last season where he seemed to lack interest.
However, I didn't really write him off. This season he's just a constant from last season (when we struggled to score goals) and he's also a loan and not our player. I think his contract is up with Reading at the end of this season. On current and previous form I hope Tony isn't thinking of making him a permanent fixture. He doesn't seem to be the answer to any of our questions - although he has plenty of time to prove me wrong...
You are right that finishers seem to be at a premium at the moment. PSG v M City last night crying out for a Centre Forward at both ends...

Seemingly we have someone on trial/using the facilities for fitness. Fingers crossed something comes of it.

Nah nothing. Probably nothing in it but you never know. We seem to be pretty good at keeping deals under the radar.

Everything crossed big Tony will pull something out during the international break

Done his ACL in 2018 and apparently struggled thereafter to get amongst the goals.
Beggars can't be choosers however. Give the guy a short term deal to January and let's see if he can give us goals.
Jeando can help him settle in the area.

So great we are looking at somebody else....but the article I read mentions that mcnulty like to be out for a few months.....
So we'd still only have this guy and Clark until Christmas
- some decent goals

We need two Strikers signed. Agreed.
One to replace Shankland and one to cover in the short term for McNulty and then see how he goes from there.
Happy for Biamou to get the opportunity to be the stop gap guy and take it from there.
But we need another more longterm Striker signed in January (and early in the window).

The McNulty injury just highlights how naive our recruitment was. Clark and Appere our only 'fit' 'strikers'. There is no spin that will convince me that failure to recruit some depth in that area was just negligent, pure and simple.

Tek - we need to stop agreeing- it doesn't feel right 🤣🤣🤣

Seen enough in that we video reel after two minutes to convince me to give until at least January.
Hopefully he's kept himself in decent shape and not the size of a bus.
I'm sure that big Jon done his ACL prior to joining us from the same level, hopefully can go onto have the same success.

Some very good goals in that lot indeed.
Boy has a very decent right foot with a fair bit of power in it.

Here is his Coventry highlights from last season. Going by this i'm surprised they let him go. Looks a right good Forward. Actually quite excited about seeing this player in tangerine and black.
