I will hold my hands up. I wanted him binned in the Summer, being out of contract.
And even the rumour of him cutting his wages in half had me in the camp of 'Bin'.
I just didn't see anyway that he would.
1) Play consistently
2) Score goals or create
3) Not get injured
Well, he is proving me wrong and his goal last night was superb (as was his 'chopped off' goal).
Keep it going PP. As things stand at this early point in the season, you're becoming the main man for us.

He has always been a good player TEK.
Injuries have hindered his career, without them he would not be at our level at this stage of his career.
Hopefully he can get an injury free run this season.

Been one of our best players, can’t think of many better players on the half turn when receiving the ball, really enjoyed watching him last night

Same.
Add:
- Play more game time
- Run at teams.
- Be a general all round pain in the arse for opposition.
- Good influence off the park.
Is he our top scorer ?

Totally different player this season. Long may it continue.

There is no doubting that Pawlett is a talented player (although vrey little end product these days), but at 30 and with his injury record, it does beg the question as to how good our academy is. Tam will be getting the heave soon if he doesn't start showing the conveyor belt of talent coming through.

To be fair to Courts, Mellon did at least have a player capable of scoring 20+ a season on the teamsheet, he did choose not to play a system capable of supplying that talent. I also thought Mellon did an OK job in the circumstances as survival was key. We will never know how he would have played this season although more of the same looked likely. That's not why he was punted though - that was musical differences on use of Academy players (even although he used them just as much as Courts). At least that was what we were told.
Courts seems to have got more out of the midfield. Pawlett, Harkes playing better and Levitt clearly an upgrade in ability. We are however desperate for a proper focal point up top. To not get that player in will just ensure that we don't make the best of the more positive play.
I thought Courts was just the cheap option (and he undoubtedly was) but was willing to give him a chance once appointed. He seems to be capable (if a little annoying on the media front) and therefore maybe Asghar was right there - although only 7 games in - but he had to back him by giving him something up front.

I don't think they are all lies . But we had several (actual) ITK people telling us he was being punted for not playing youth and not 'sharing the vision', he was then duly punted. At the time the club thanked him for achieving his goal of keeping us up etc. etc.. But then we are told it was the style of football that was the problem - which was handy as that is what most United fans thought about the football too - even the ones that thought Mellon did the best with the hand he was played. Hence my quip that Courts should be watching his back for not playing youth and not sharing the vision. Tongue firmly in cheek...
