We must play our strongest team for this.No tinkering or fucking about trying to be too smart with the selection.
And by strongest i mean not only players who are 100% fit and healthy
BUT ALSO
Players playing in their best position.
I would play.
....................Czierniak...........
Watson.....Dillon....Fojut....Townsend
...............Butcher..Rankin...............
.......Dow.....Armstrong.....GMS.......
......................Ciftci..........................
Subs - Szromnik,Souttar,Telfer,Connolly,Erskine,Spark,Spittal
We must play with attacking pace and aggression from the first whistle. We were so pedestrian and slow against St.Johnstone.
Might be harsh but i would sacrifice Erskine as i would like to see Dow and GMS (playing in his best position) give us some much needed width in the team.Opening up spaces that the likes of Armstrong,Ciftci and even Butcher and Rankin could hopefully capatilise on running through the middle.

Very tempted to start with Connolly for Dow tbh.
But not sure if he'd be fit enough.

Very harsh to drop my player of the season, so far, for a freewheeling player eagerly awaiting the end of the season.
And what has Dillon done wrong?
Offline
Is Paton not back for this one?
If so would go Paton for Rankin and Connolly for Dow in your team TEK.
Assuming you're writing off Morris with injury.

Kinda agree with that, Erskine for GMS but GMS does play his best versus le fun.
TEK put Dillo in middle, assuming Morris injured.

I wouldn't have Dow anywhere near the starting line up.
I wouldn't have Spittal anywhere near the starting line up.
Any available eleven minus those two.

GMS on the left wing, Connolly on the right, with Ciftci in the middle. Sit back and watch the goals banging in!

Dillon is in my team (for Morris who will probably be injured).
I said myself dropping Erskine was harsh but we badly need width.
GMS is the best player on the left wing FOR ME.
Connolly my preferred option on the right but as he's just back from injury i think it might need to be Dow.
That only leaves one slot in the middle and though he's not in any great form i would still play Armstrong ahead of Erskine through the middle.
That is just what i would like to see though and i actually expect Erskine to start. And GMS to be on the bench.

The three will be McNamara's preferred
Dow-Armstrong-Erskine
I don't know what he is thinking these days.

Apologies, TEK, should really read whole post to see Dillo.
On present form, Squiddy would be my first name on the teamsheet as he's our most creative player at the moment.

I really like Squiddy,Bugs. He's probably my Poty so far actually.
I just think we need a high tempo for this game.Otherwise if the Dee sit in like St.Johnstone we may struggle.

At the moment, Squiddy is our Gauldy for unlocking teams that sit in, so can't be left out. Totally agree with the width proposal but, in a 4231 that should mainly come from the FBs. Perhaps Watson in, with Dillo replacing Morris, can be a blessing in disguise?

Watson must play IMO.Absolutely excellent v Motherwell and has bizarrely been completely bombed out since.
If our offensive players take a game we can beat anyone. And we have apart fae Accies and eh...Killie.
Erskine is a 'tin-opener',though to a lesser degree than Gauld.
I think Connolly is every bit as good as Gauldie though. For me this kid should always start until he has a duffer.Which hasn't happened yet.

You won't get me to say a word against Aidan, he's not Gauld, but he condensed 3 years GMS development into 1 close season, so we both rate him very highly?
Edit - Keef is a great player, but can't stop a cross. Less threat of a cross from the like of Stewart, so could be win-win?

I think he's (Connolly) every bit as good as Gauld from what i've seen so far.
