Sad to say that many of us will have seen that coming. Seemed for the most oe it, there was a lack of urgency from the team?
Midfield lacking creativity. No near enough balls played toward the Aberdeen box, let alone into it.
Taking our 2 strikers off FFS. But then, the twa oe them were getting little or no service.
Same old sores. Too much, we piss about we the ba along the back, and of coorse, the SSBs are onto oor defenders. Meanwhile, when Aiberdeen defenders hae the ba, we're nae whar near them.
Not 1 attempt on goal in the 1st half. Here's a secret guys if ye dinna shoot - ye canna score.
Eh'm left scratching meh haed, aboot a whole load oe things aboot the day.
Wha was it fae the Club sayed, that they wanted us to be challenging for Europe?
Europe FFS, we need to learn to play in Aiberdeen 1st.
If Eh can see this, how come the Club canna.

Phuking awful.
Zero positives today and let’s face it we all suspected this.
We are in serious shite. Whole situation is now an effing farce barring miraculous signing activity of momentous proportions.

Awful today. Really awful. But, sadly, not surprising in the least.
We have nothing about us really. No pace, no width, no cutting edge, no tempo, no aggression. In short we have a lot wrong with us and we need about 5 or 6 first team ready players signed. And we need them yesterday.
As said above, Courts post-match comments were just as alarming. He actually says the plan was to catch Aberdeen late on as they would be tired after playing in Europe. So, why then does he take both our Strikers off in the last period of the game? Absolutely baffling stuff, as is his general belief that we dominated the first half and had them 'hemmed in' for 30 minutes in the 2nd half? Wtf game was he watching? Because it certainly isn't the one i was watching.
This will all end in tears, i fear.

This is in a nutshell. We are awful to watch because we offer nothing to games. Last season we had a lot of luck and a goalkeeper who had the best season of his career that resulted in us getting a shit load of draws and 1-0 wins. That luck was never going to last and it hasn't.
Our tactics seem to be just to turn up and try and frustrate teams but we are clueless once we concede. Today after going 2-0 down we ended taking off both our strikers and seemed to be happy playing for a 2-0 defeat...where's the logic there?
Tams post match comments were frightening, I get the manager trying to protect the players, but there's protecting the players and then just taking the piss. To suggest we edged the first half is utterly laughable.
He gets a free hit against the rangers next week but I'm still of the opinion he is way out of his depth at this level.

Boys on the glue.
just watched that interview and near enough spat out my tea when he said that with a straight face. i want to like the guy, but still don't think that i've made it to the end of one of his interviews without having to switch it off. does tony listen to that and like what he hears? would any prospective player coming in like the idea of listening to that every day? even as a united fan i'm not sure i could stomach the thought - being positive is great, but you have find actual things to be positive about - not just spout delusional pish.
couldn't understand that team yesterday... if we're going with kids and trying to develop "assets" this year then back 3 makes sense - Mulgrew, Edwards + rotate Smith/Neilson. also means your fullbacks have a bit more protection, so chance to give Freeman / Duffy / Sporle an extended run in the team... but we start with the Mellon game ruiner 11 from last season, only without one potential spark in mcnulty and with an extra cb. "were you happy watching that last season?".
are Pawlett's injuries linked to him throwing himself face first to the deck at any given opportunity? fine with a bit of shitehousery, but that was nothing short of embarrassing and i don't ever remember feeling that way about a united player. Clark completely anonymous. Shanks no reaction when being subbed on 80 minutes not a great sign.

Been saying this for months now. Ogren has left the club in the hands of the wrong people.

It's a tough one as we were mince but they need the window to show what they are all about.
Tbh, I can see all of benji, shanks and robson going. Robson is decent but I can't see him improving, shanks has been out of sorts for a long while. Benji would be a significant miss though....
If that's the case, we need 3 replacements plus a creative mid, 2 wingers and a big striker.

...and the chances of us bringing in 6 players of the necessary quality? 0%

Agree its unlikely but guess they need the chance... maybe today's performance will loosen pursestrings - let's face it the fabled 5 year plan does not work in the championship?

I'm convinced Shankland is away this window.
Yesterday Courts was asked about creating chances for him to start scoring again and he totally evaded answering the question or speaking Shankland's name.
Instead answering that he wanted to create chances for others in the team also.

Shankland get's a pretty easy ride of things. Granted we are not making nearly enough chances for any striker, never mind one of his previous finishing ability so you can understand his frustration. That said, he's been pretty poor for months.
The basics of the game that have nothing to do with scoring are letting him down, summed up when he returned the thrown-in straight out of play. Work rate has dropped, hold-up play is limited compared to his previous performances where he surprised everyone by how good a player he was. If he's not doing what is asked, then he's right to be hooked. It highlights the pathetic imbalance of our squad that there was no one to put on in his place.
I understand that's a short-term view and in the longer-term we need to be more front-footed. ensuring that we play to his strengths and are creating more chances. But if you're the manager of a football club, you're quite right to say you want more chances for everyone, not just one player.

No, i agree with that last sentence (and the rest of your post).
But it was more like Courts didn't want to even say Shankland's name, when talking about creating chances for him moving forward.
Maybe, i'm looking too much into it, but it was a strange wee bit of body language i felt.

Didn't see it so can't comment. I think there was some sort of agenda/message in his subbing though. Either to him directly or to our MD/Scouting team/purse string holder
