Raking through the Archive and there are a few matches in the noughties that i don't recall any t.v. footage of, despite Utd registering good results. Particulary around the mid-noughties. When Ian McCall was our Manager.
Does anyone have any footage of the following on vhs? I'd love to see the goals uploaded somehow if at all possible.
3-2 Utd v Aberdeen.
👆 THIS was actually a live Sunday afternoon match on BBC Scotland. Somebody out there must have recorded it surely?
Livi 2 Utd 3

Hainey winner v Barca 1966, just asking on off chance like.

One of my favourite ever games was at Ibrox around 1990 when Darren Jackson scored two late headers and we won 2-1, Alan Main saved a penalty, would love to see it again.
Before my time, the 3-2 game at parkhead in 82/83 when Milne scored a late winner, heard so much about it, never seen the goals.Â
Looking at those results under McCall, some great memories, at the time I thought we were building something, turned out to be yet another false dawn.Â
I was looking in vain on YouTube for footage of the 1st leg playoff v Thistle in 1996.

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009. Hibs Away. 2-1 win. Goodwillie with a last minute winner after Warren Feeney put us ahead and Steven Fletcher made it 1-1. Some of the best 'limbs' I've been involved in at a game of football. Unreal. Cant find footage of it anywhere!

I'd love to see that too.
Atmosphere was electric that day. What an explosion at Dailly's equaliser.
Probably one of the last times we had a large, packed Utd end all standing behind a goal.

Nice one mate, cheers 👌

We were brilliant in the first half of that Killie game. That team under McCall under-performed in his first full season. The games against a good Rangers side were excellent. The one we won was an outstanding display. Think the other was a draw around new year if memory serves 3-3?

Another true story from smedDUm....
I loved Jim McIntyre.
There was a game at Tannadice, can't remember who against, but I was sitting in Dode Upper central.
Agent Jim did something, maybe just a wee dip of the shoulder, maybe just a wee telepathic pass, it wasn't after he's scored or anything, but it was enough for me to turn to my mate on my right & say, 'I love Jim MIntyre'.
For good measure I turns to the bloke on my left who I did not know & says, 'I love Jim McIntyre!'.
He turns to me & says, 'So do I, I'm his dad'.

16 goals for Jimmy Mac in 04/05 . He turned 32 that summer too. Excellent goalscoring return for him that season. Some big goals for us too in Derbies, Semi-Finals etc. A bit of a cult hero now with what he did across the road too....

Brilliant - thanks mate. Just watched it there. What a goal by Goodie. Zaluska with the assist too! Absolute bedlam in the United end at the goal.

Would love to see footage of this 4 goal salvo from big Mixu down at Cappielow, which helped us record an excellent 0-4 away win.
Our league form had been poor this particular season until after Xmas and we finally started hitting some good form running up till the Cup Final. Luggy was injured a lot that season if i mind right.

The 1986 game where we came from 2 down to win 3-2 against Ranger at Ibrox with the late winner from Ian Redford.
Was very young and at the game with some Rangers supporting family and getting wound up rotten at half time, you could not wipe the smile off my face for ages and i couldn't wait to see the highlights.Â

This has been stuck in my head since Tek asked about matches from around 2003-2004 season: did the BBC not have the exclusive rights to games around that time, prior to the ill fated Setanta deal? I seem to recall they also showed highlights, some of which I downloaded onto an old computer. Eventually, I'll get round to looking for them.

That Aberdeen game was quality. Charlie Miller was dropped after falling out with McCall and came on and turned the game. It was most memorable for a pissed up lassie in the Aberdeen end in the JK who was hurling abuse down at the Utd support in the ET lower to which we responded "Your kids are goin into care!" When we scored the winner this reached a crecsendo and the stewards came and tried to chuck her out because she was cracking up at the stick she was getting. Magic. Great days. Well actually, football wise it was pretty crap days but being in my twenties and getting pished at every game then going out on a Saturday night was braw if Utd won.
