across the competition, bar a few results, these games are very tight. Foresee it being very laboured for a number of reasons. Not being pessimistic, just being realistic and therefore won't over react if it does pan out that way. Would take a 1-0

High tempo performance and a 2-0 win. Both goals coming in the first half. Both from Shankland.

I neither went to the gehm like many Arabs did, nor subscribe to Premier, so saw the gehm courtesy of hesgoal.
That was an average performance last night. It was brutal to watch at times. Can't believe the lack if creativity. It reminded me a lot of last Season all over again.
However we got the win. There was a marked improvement when Chalmers came on. Credit to Fuchs and Freezer and Shanks great finish. We need lots more of that. And thanks to Benji an' all.
MOTM for me Freeman.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game, was enthralled tbh, a mixture of it being the 1st game in 16 months & seeing a new-look DUFC regime. It was a THOROUGHLY difficult game for us,giant banana skin, Kelty playing their 1st game as a SPFL side & live on TV. They were fighting like tigers with several seasoned pros and very competent players & a potentially excellent new manager. Astro pitch too but looked & played like a decent one. We had to match them with 5 kids on board & we did. It was an ideal first competitive game for us & all-in-all have to be happy with the outcome, we did win after all. Fuchs was our best player IMO closely followed by Shankland. Duffy & Freeman would be happy with their debuts tho Duffy let two or three right wing crosses in first half. When Neilson came on for Duffy Freeman went to play left back and was the assist for Shankland's winning goal. Was impressed with Mulgrew, excellent acquisition. Our fans were very discreet, I never saw one colour, well done lads & we got a wee clap from Tam & the players at the end. With a bit of blending, one ot two new additions & the emergence of the Young Guns (there were 3 unused kids on the bench too) I'm looking forward to seeing this United team progress. A pint in the Kinross beer garden on way home, slept like a log & all's well in the Dundee United world.
Hold on, the Over-positive Police are at the door....
