Our 1st home game is v Elgin City on Wed 14th July.
Will some of us be allowed in?
Or will they wait for the start of the league programme (31st July) to try a 'test event'?
It might depend on what happens in the Euros, if the limited crowds (12,000 at Hampden) & Fan Zones go well then we might start getting back in before too long.

The way case numbers are rising in Dundee I can see us being back in Level 4 lockdown by the 14th of July.

I agree.
By the start of the Premiership season the majority of people in the country in the vulnerable age category i.e. 40 to 100 will have had both their 1st and 2nd vaccines.
What is the end goal here?

Let the fans in now.
As is being said the vaccine rates keep going up, deaths and hospitalizations ( is that even a word) are well down get the f###ng gates open now.

Zero evidence of covid spreading at football.

zero evidence that anything we have done has mitigated much of anything.
Man + virus is part of the deal. We're all fucking mortal unfortunately, get the fk on with it, enough damage has been done as it is. Football is crap with half fans, spaced out fans, masked fans or no fans. Get it all to fk tomorrow and live. We're pathetic we are.

Hate to say it, but because of the failure of governments to take much tougher action a long time ago, we may have got to a point where new variants have some resistance to current vaccines, and the fact that most people are or will be vaccinated soon might not mean much. For me, it will be critical to see how badly ill people with variant COVID become if they're fully vaccinated. If they get flu-like symptoms but they're generally not hospitalised and there are no long-term effects then we might still be okay. Put another way, if there's another wave (and I think there will be), but hospitalisations and deaths remain low, then we should be looking at opening things up. But you can't risk that until you know how vaccinated people respond to infection with the delta variant.
It's frustrating. We wouldn't have had variants if the spread had been strictly limited a long time ago. Viruses can only mutate when they're replicating.
Couldnt give a fk. You cant limit "spread"" of aerosolized respiratory pathogens with any form of NPI, literally never been done and never will be. History wont be kind to us, particularly what we've put kids through. Let people fucking live and gis peace with this shit.

But Linda Bauld got an OBE. I suppose, that failed dentist will get something similar. Another case of "Jobs for the boys"

Calgary with a population of 1.3m? What age are these people?, Do they have underlying HC, are they in hospital or icu? Too many unknowns here.

Jesus mate... "every single family would have suffered deaths". Before I even wade into evidence, of which there is stockpiles of real world evidence now.
The IFR drops off a cliff for anyone healthy and under the age of 65. You reckon 1 in 5 people are going to die unless we use npi's then that's a great example of how deep this psychosis has gone. Truly lost.
Fill the fucking grounds up fuck sake.

I can't ever imagine being in a crowded pub/stadium ever again. Would really like to get back to a socially distanced Tannadice though, with people sitting in bubbles wearing masks. That's a decent compromise and no reason we couldn't have 5000 fans doing that.
What people forget is that it's not only Covid it protects against, but also colds flu etc. When was the last time anyone got the flu.
So for me, masks and distancing are now a permanent fixture, particularly outdoors.

Keeping fans out of football stadia is an absolute nonsense. We have one of the highest vaccination rates on earth, its a disgrace if football is not allowed 100% attendance come opening day of the season.

"A permanent fixture", what utter dramatic nonsense- full house at the Hungary game last night.

What I was meaning they are a permanent fixture for me. I can't see me ever in a crowded pub/restaurant/bus again. I'll go to places that apply social distancing rules as a condition of entry.
I'm not saying stadiums shouldn't be full, but I am saying I won't be going if they are.
I do think Covid is here to stay for the rest of all our lives, and we need to find new ways of living. For me that means always distancing, always wearing a mask in public indoor settings, always sanitising etc. It's just not worth the risk.

What’s the science against fully vaccinated people going to a football game?

You can still catch it, you can still get ill from it, you can still spread it to others, and there is no way of knowing who is vaccinated and who is not.
A vaccine isn't a silver bullet, the only way out is zero Covid.

Just thinking about some of the above comments.
For what's it's worth, I don't think things will be back to "normal" in years, and I certainly don't envisage anything above 25% capacity and no away fans at Scottish football grounds for the 21/22, and probably the 22/23 season. It's not just the risk of the virus in the stadium, it's the pressure on public transport and pubs/restaurants etc with large crowds. I suspect clubs will have more of a hybrid watch at home/watch in the stadium season ticket model where you are guaranteed entry to, say, 7 home games a season and able to watch the rest at home.
The controversial way out of it is with quicker and more accurate testing (which will come in time) and some sort of negative passport on your smartphone to confirm you don't currently have Covid. I would 100% be in favour of this and think it would allow a return to something much closer to normality, but a lot of people are completely resistant to the idea on the grounds of privacy/civil liberties so can't see it happening for a while yet.

Absolutely seek of this now. How come more people died from smoking related causes last year than died of Covid, yet you can still walk into a shop and buy a packet of fags?
If this is all about protecting the NHS, why not ban smoking then?
If we’re to believe that this is here for the foreseeable, then with the vulnerable groups all double jagged, why have so many restrictions. If it’s to protect the ones that have declined the vaccination then sorry, but fuck them, if they don’t want a vaccine then that’s their choice, but I shouldn’t have to suffer because of them.
Rant over.

There is going to be 50% + crowds at Wembley for last 16 matches next week but some above saying that won't happen for over a year in a Scotland.
Time to get a grip and get on with it
