I sincerely hope MM's departure didn't cost us any money. Anybody know?

The wording was very much geared towards an amicable parting of ways, so I'd be surprised.
Imo the board have given MM an ultimatum of play X youngsters every game and not supplied the cash to get good enough older heads into the team to support them....then he's gone looking. I can't blame him - I'd do the same if i were being told how to do my job when it will hinder my performance.
Sad times but hope we get the right manager in. Just hope we avoid crony-ism and picking the cheap option....

Stewart Petrie shooting up the betting lists. 2nd favourite. Assuming he has been interviewed.

That would be an interesting appointment and certainly Petrie has more than earned a chance to manage a bigger club given the magnificent job he has done at Montrose.
He certainly came in and turned a side that Hegarty had made a disgraceful shambles in the games I had seen before he left including a 3-0 Betfred Cup group loss to Cove that should have been 8 or 9 *shudders in horror at the memory* .
For Petrie to come in and turn a side I feared was Highland League bound into one that reached the promotion playoffs that season was a fantastic achievement and also showed the squad was far better than the had showed before.
And since then thing have just got better for Montrose under him reaching the League 1 promotion playoffs a couple of times.

I wouldn't have thought so LEK.
Next manager odds from the bookies are pure fiction.
A bit of fun, the researchers troll places like this for any wild stuff.
If I was to write on here I saw John Daly going into Tannadice on Moday he'd be 40/1 in the blink of an eye.
The bookies know about as much as us.
Sidenote. A dozen or more years ago Luggy was away to get sacked by Sheff Wed. Hw was 8/1 in the Sack Race. He told a few of his mates out Perth Rd way who went heavy at the local bookie until he told them to gtf.

Almost certainly did. Ashgar will want Mellon to keep schtoom on the clear fallout that happened. He will have signed a non-disclosure in return for a severance payment, unless he's totally stupid. Suspect that will have been for a percentage of what he would have earned in the final year of his contract. How big a percentage is a guess though. you can't imagine any smaller than 25% and presumably no bigger than 75%.

This I fully agree with.
Forgetting about the potential of appointing an untested rookie manager at this level I am growing uneasy at the potential effect the delay could have.
First any potential signing targets could well decided to go elsewhere while the manager appointment saga drags on.
Why would a potential signing go to a manager less club to then run a risk of not being wanted or liked by the new manager and frozen out the first team squad.
Secondly the time the new man would have to bed in and get to know the players at training and to get his ideas and style of play communicated at training given the league cup group games kick off in a just over a months time.
If its Courts then how will a group of players react to a manager who has no experience of playing or managing at a high level or even lower leagues of the SPFL.
Doing it at Kelty Hearts at junior, EoS and LL level is not exactly great to judge management ability at top flight level on.

Same.
Every other club seems to be releasing new strips, making signings, appointing new Manager's and generally getting their supporters excited for next season.
We are sat (as supporters) desperate for some positive news to come out of Tannadice once again during a close season.

+ Compounds the situation where every silly season we never know new signings till final hour final day.

Anyone know the situation with Steven Frail ?
If he's still with us and the new manager wants to bring in his own people I suppose we have to give him a pay off too ?

Stagnant as usual.
Not even a season ticket total update after the Early Bird deadline had passed. Some will say it doesn’t matter, it’s on pitch that matters. But it does, and it’ll be someone’s job to do stuff like this. And they’re half-arseing it

Sure he is heading to Bradford City.

On STV news this evening that the club hope to announce the new manager next week.
If its Courts then to let it drag on this long is not good enough as far as I am concerned as an internal appointment should have been done by now if they knew that was the route they wanted to go down.

Big tam the bam playing hard ball??

Surely the fact it is taking longer makes it less likely to be him? And if we have interviewed people and he was the best candidate then great, lets get him started.
I honestly dont even care who it is at this stage. I've come to the conclusion that we could announce Klopp next week and there will still be some moaners.
"how much are we paying him ffs?"
"But will he have the last say on signings ffs"

We are appointing Courts. 100%
There’s no real hold up. We have been interviewing for an assistant coach, all the while making it look like a thorough process is going on. ‘Promote from within’ has been the plan all along. And it’s cheap.
I’ll back the guy 100% but I don’t think now is the time for an experiment. We are trying to avoid being a yo-yo club at this stage.

Always going to be him.
He was going to be announced last week but they held off due to fan reaction.
Bullshit fed to press about interviews etc

I love the positivity on this site. Cheers me up every time I read it.

Fear the absolute worst if this boy is appointed.
Hope to fuck its not but fear that finances will dictate.
Will back him regardless but you can see it right now experienced players ain't going to like it when the under 18s manager gets the gig.
Cheap option in my view.

John Carver is rumoured to be the assistant to Courts
Given he has got a lot of experience I would not be unhappy with that but given he is currently involved with Scotland I wonder how accurate that is.

Liam Fox rumoured to be Manager now.
Holy fuck.
