Not posted for a while either but this nepotism shite needs to end right now.
If Ashgar can't work with a head coach and needs to employ some rookie then he's the problem.
The Ogrens need to get a grip of this, in a world of teams and Skype sometimes you need to be in the building to get a general feeling of just how things are going on.
First plane to Scotland please.

Tam courts has a uefa A licence.
Here's what a n A licence gives you...according to wiki. Looks like he's not our man?
The UEFA A Licence is a coaching licence mandated by UEFA, the official governing body of European football. The licence is one level below the UEFA Pro Licence and allows holders to be head coaches of youth teams up to age 18, reserve teams for top-flight clubs, and men's professional second-tier clubs. One of these days we're going to get it right

I have a friend who recently got his A licence and another who has his B licence and is going for A as soon as he can (Covid delays).
Without being cheeky to either of them, the former is likely to go far in coaching IMO, he's the best I've ever worked with, great coach, great drills, enthusiasm, and a footballing brain.
The one currently working towards it is far less impressive, plenty enthusiasm but his sessions are a bit lacking, still an OK coach though. I would still expect him to get his A licence.
The licences don't mean very much, just that you know how to coach safely and with a degree of knowledge. The imposition of the A and Pro licences as a necessity at the top level were to stop some of the nonsense you used to hear about in Eastern and central Europe (and not dissimilar to Romanov era Hearts actually) where the chairman would appoint himself manager or appoint a random youth coach to be used as a puppet.

Seen quite a few rumours around this evening that strongly hint at Derek McInnes being the new man in.
No idea how accurate these are but if it is McInnes then I would not be unhappy as looking at the names on the bookies lists he is certainly not the worst.
Thankfully Mackay going to County rules out any possibility of that happening.
What must not happen under is the Courts/Ashgar rumour as if that does I would predict relegation is almost a certainly by the years end.

McInnes seemed like the obvious choice if you dont focus too much on the 'direction' the club want to go in. I'd take him ahead of anyone mentioned before.
Offline
I wouldn't be upset if he gets the gig but I don't see how McInnes is going to move us away from Murderball or, more importantly to the owners, bring in youngsters to sell on. He's never played particularly open football, or played youngsters at Aberdeen as far as I recall.
Offline
never say never but it would be a backward step for DM. Apart from the last few months he was a success at Aberdeen.
I reckon his reputation could still get him a better job down south

Scum reporting Courts to be named head coach and Gordon Forrest could come back.
Online!
This will go down well

Hahaha its not often i'd think this but right now I'd rather have shree points yogi but that's where I'm at.
Something for united to think about......not one of the young lads out on loan excelled in the lower leagues- why will playing multiple youths at once work? (Only one who excelled was Mochrie and even then he wasn't getting picked at the tail end of the season.) Maybe they arent ready to be exposed to first team football in the premier

Of the young guys I’ve seen (albeit some very limited minutes for some) the only one who has really stood out as someone who looks a really exciting prospect for me was Kerr Smith - a 16 year old centre back. Others have shown in flashes that they could become premier league players (or hopefully better) but I don’t think there’s any guarantee on that. Even Chalmers, I’m not sold on yet - decent on the ball etc, but crossing not great and never scored a goal last season. Mochrie, Glass, Fotheringham, Meekison all look tidy players but none look anything like ready to play 30 games in the premier league next season.
Whoever is manager is going to need to sign at least 4 first team players, more if Benji, Shanks and Fuchs are sold.

I personally dont think Yogi would be the worst, managed to somehow keep a really sh*@e county team up and tries to atleast let players express themselves, playing football.
The Tam Courts thing for me is a no, fair enough we might have good youth coming through but you cant throw them in and expect it to work. Your right that they need to play week in week out down the divisions and if they are playing well then integrate them.
Fingers crossed for del boy.

Del isn't known for playing youngsters though - so maybe unlikely.....

Never understand why United fans wouldn’t want John Hughes

Considering the other options being mentioned I would now be happy with McInnes or Yogi tbh.
Really hope United do not Phuk this up. Definitely potential for them to do so. FFS after years of grief for the Arabs, honestly.

With United budgets and talent coming through i think he would need to. Im sure he would fit some in around experience
Offline
I'd not be against him coming in....if he knew what he was getting himself into.
I wonder if we are going to get a matalan mcinnes tho...
Tbh I've no experience of courts' work and have nothing against him other than his lack of experience.
Kelty to dundee united is a hell of a jump and if he is being taken in to showcase the talent we have, I dont think we will be in the league very long which the business plan requires.
Take kerr Smith for example. Fantastic player with a fantastic future ahead of him but he is a long way off from being ready to play week in, week out. For him, I'd love to see him playing all season alongside Sean dillon at montrose. A good steady professional to guide him through a season of men's football

Tangy, David Narey made his debut halfway thro a season (1972/73) when he was not long turned 17. He played a further 600 games on the bounce. Didn't go near Montrose. Yes he was exceptional but get them in or we'll die wondering.

I will take that on board. According to Arab archive he played 10 games in his first year and then was a solid 40/45 games a season thereafter.
However I'm sure you would take on board the point that football is a different beast in 2021 and also it would appear (no word from the club probably being the issue and leads to people making things up) that the club are looking to introduce multiple youths into a 30+ game contribution. The point wasn't specifically about kerr Smith and as mentioned I think he has a lot of talent but that has to be harnessed without his confidence being destroyed by being pumped every week because the club want to play multiple youngsters every week.
Football is a balance. You need youth coming through but too much and it will destroy the team. Look at the colts squads in the league Cup. Even celtic and rangers colts struggle to do anything against part time mens football teams

On the new manager topic I have just seen that some obscure young youth academy analyst has been on twitter calling the United fans clowns.
Apparently upset that the fans are upset at the prospect of an unproven manager like Courts being appointed and preferring a more experienced candidate like a McInnes instead.
United should be taking action against this guy and ideally getting rid as a club employee calling the fans clowns is totally unacceptable conduct.
This is the tweet he made.

Seen that aswell, what an idiot. Get rid of people like that, dont need them at our club!

It's certainly not helpful. I mean, I get people are allowed an opinion but twitter is hardly ever the place for it.
United together 🤔

This has been a theme at united for a couple of years now, employees of the club thinking it is ok to criticize supporters. Jim McLean always said the fans were the lifeblood of the club and he was spot on.
Paul Paton saying "fans need to look at themselves" when we were bottom of the league, some complete muppet of a player when we were in the championship who said the reason we were struggling was the photo's of wee Jim and the glory days around Tannadice, and now this.
Get rid of the guy.
