I definitely recall reading at the time that the fee had either matched or was close to matching Pressley's fee.

Wiki says "around £700k". Regardless, it was a big signing at the time, such a disappointment though.
Another "big" signing around that time was Scott McCulloch. He looked brilliant for Dunfermline then turned to total shit at United.
