You genuinely think that off the park we are "much worse" than we were before Ogren took over?
Do you really think that? There was a period when Brannigan was there that we looked like we knew what we were doing on the commercial side but that has passed. Football wise we have improved, Academy etc. is positive. On the selling the product and communication with those that pay the wages (including sponors etc.) it's definitely now worse than pre-Ogren. Granted covid has got in the way obviously but you just have to look at the shop and kit sales to see that we are way off it.
Nonsense 😉
Clearly we aren't going to agree on this one. Maybe I am too down on TA, but I only have the best interests of the club at heart.

I still disagree. There is a pattern of this since Ashgar took over. If you think his agent is fanning the flames by suggesting we are ready to jump in then fair enough, but I can think of more likely clubs that would make Celtic or someone down south jump. When he is signed is not the dispute here. he'd likely be a pre-contract anyway so technically would not be before this window.
The nonsense was in relation to the club can't win statement. It can - it doesn't need to be getting itself linked with players it can't afford.
Players it cant afford? I'll say again mate, its only Declan Gallagher. Granted he would get a bit more elsewhere. But that doesnt meant we cant afford him. I just think you are nit-picking just for the sake of it. So where is the line that says if a player is a real possibility or just a front from Asghar? This is going to leave me confused for the rest if time tbh.Unfortunately a stick on Scottish internationalist is out of our league these days...and we can't afford him if he does actually command what his new found status in the Scottish game would pay. I'm not nit-picking. I have a genuine concern about the way Ashgar runs this aspect of the club. Clearly there is a line. Maybe Gallagher is your side of the real possibility line and you may be right, but I doubt it.
I totally get where you are coming from mate. But I want the best for United (as I'm sure you do too) and if we are linked with a player who could improve us then I'm going to embrace it and look at the positives instead of thinking its some kind of inside conspiracy thing to make us think the club are doing well.

Don't get me wrong I'd be delighted to be proven wrong but I suspect I won't and we'll be adding another to the "near thing" list...

Proves or disproves nothing. Remember TA has an 'enviable' network...

So it wasn’t TA then. Hopefully folks aren’t disappointed.

As I have explained above, that is not a conclusion that you can confidently draw. Maybe he knows more than one journalist - I think he may be that devious...

Really? You think he is deviously linking us to people we won't sign? to what end....? You think in the long-term anyone is going to appeased by blindly being linked to players that we don't then sign especially if things aren't going well on the park?
Balance that up with the fact a lot of p eople said we wouldn't sign Shankland or McNulty (or Pawlett and Sow in fairness, that just never worked out for us and them). Plus not a single person had heard of Jeando Fuchs, one of our best players. I'm guessing that name didn't come from Mellon's book.
He has made mistakes in role, he may not have left a great first impression on you specifically but your clearly refusing to accept the positives and trying to twist anything else. It's not necessarily a go at you, but that same viewpoint of half-truths and perceptions.

Cammy Smith has left Utd after his contract expired.
So there is one wage freed up.

Really. It is a perception and I'll flag it if I think it makes the club look daft.
The devious point was tongue-in-cheek related to the suggestion that Scott Burns is his only outlet! That acceptance by others in itself points firmly to the club (and that is TA) 'leaking' things to Burns which as we know have not always been true. So for me it is intentional (it may be to try to appease fans or ego, i don't know) of course it may be that we have genuinely been trying to get guys that it is apparent we can't afford but if that is the case that just draws into question the thought process and points at us wasting time with boys that are never coming that could be spent on guys that might.
Shankland has clearly been a great bit of business, I've never denied that. McNulty I think the jury is still out on (potentially if others are to be believed, literally). Fuchs looks like it might turn into good business - too early to tell to be honest. There are many others that have been meh or not good enough so pardon me for not seeing too many positives to counter my niggling doubts.

Since Asghar came to the club, I feel we have had many more "successful" signings than we have unsuccessful. Many might disagree. But its all an opinion I suppose.

Picked up by Ayr straight away for the remainder of the season. Good luck to him.
In terms of saving a wage, I wonder how much of his wages they were already picking up?

Totally, if McNulty stuck around after his loan and starts to produce and Fuchs fulfils his potential then that is three good signings. Edwards is doing OK in my opinion but that clearly was a Mellon lead. The rest are firmly in the meh, not good enough category (although I think Powers would be a good player in a different team and that might be unfair to Smith although can't remember if he is a TA purchase). That's not really my point though is it and the main 2 you refer to are definitely maybes. One not our player and one managed only a handful of games and was not match fit when we needed him. All of those are balanced out by strange signings and even stranger 'attempted signings'.
Is there anywhere one can look up the principal staff at DUFC. To see who they are & what they do. Cos there's sod all on the Fishal.
