Is there any good reason why our next two midweek games kick off at 6pm?
I can't be the only supporter who simply won't make it home from work in time to see the full game and therefore won't be buying either stream.
Might not sound like much the club missing out on my £12.50 but surely they should be looking to ensure they do whatever they can to get every penny into the coffers currently.

Not sure of the exact reasons tbh mate. Seems to have happened in our home games so maybe the away club requesting to move due to the travel time getting home etc? Not that a couple of hours on a coach is exactly a long journey but maybe the players getting home from the game up to 2 hours earlier has its benefits for recovery the next day? No idea. It doesnt affect me at the moment but no doubt there will be some in the same boat as yourself that wont make it back in time to watch it.

Thankfully doesn't effect me but I was thinking the same. Are they making the assumption that every supporter is off work?

I did wonder that.
Personally i know of no-one who is furloughed this time round. All still working.
It's annoying, these kick off's. The St.Johnstone kick off time of 6.30pm i literally just made it in from work right on k.o.
Here's the thing though. When you get back from work you want time to have a cuppa, get a wash, have some tea and catch-up with your loved one's. No one wants to just get in from work and sit down to immediately watch the game.
I wish more thought was put into these type of decisions.
p.s. i'm not just blaming Utd here btw. Because our away game at Motherwell is same time so it may be a SPFL decision. But it sucks.
Back to 7.45pm please 😒

Spoke to somedy at the Club. Think it's mibbee got something to do with the temperatures dropping as the evening wears on.

If that is the reason. I find it rather pathetic.

It was more of a passing remark Tek. Nothing official or serious.

I think I have seen that elsewhere - less chance of call offs and therefore better from a covid perspective. Understandable on that basis.

I don't follow.
How would kicking the match off 90 or so minutes earlier lessen the chance of covid call-off's?

More not putting people through the trip to another club only to find that the game is called off as the temperature has dropped later in the night. Given the covid protocols apparently that would be a pain in the tits. Not sure how they do it down south though where the seem to manage to put 2 games on tv every night....wasn't saying it was right but there is a logic I think

I still don't get that reasoning, if that is indeed the reason behind the decision. The temperature between 6 and 7-45pm isn't going to be that different. Maybe a degree or two at most. Certainly not dramatic enough to tip the scales in terms of a match being called off, you'd imagine.
I noticed Dundee's away game to Arbroath on Friday is still a 7.30pm kick off incidentally.

I genuinely think its down to the clubs wanting the players home as early as possible for a better recovery session the next day. I might be wrong but that feels like the most logical reason.

It's on the tele is it not?
Granted there are a lot of fans having to go out to work but equally, there is a lot working at home. Even more so now that most kids are not at school.
Bottom line is there are no fans at the game so the logistics are different meaning they can kick off earlier. There are always some who miss out due to work commitments.
