Players adapting to the Premiership

How do we feel the players that were with us last season have adapted to the Premiership?

Here are my thoughts:

Benji - no questions, been outstanding, could play at a higher level.
Deniz - not had too many opportunities but a more than able no.2

L Smith - hasn't done much wrong, hope he gets a new contract soon.
Connolly - has been outstanding in some games and very dodgy in others. Experience and leadership keeps him in the team imo.
Reynolds - as above. Played so many games in this league that you'd expect him to be able to handle it. Does he have another season in him though? He is our most frequently used player this season so it seems his body is holding up.
Robson - has been OK. Seems to have improved defensively but his final ball and decision making still need some serious improvement.

Sporle - probably suited more to the Premiership than the Championship to be honest. Looks to be improving and more comfortable with the language etc. Would like to see him given a real run in the team in the same position (Left midfield in a 442 for me).
Butcher - similar to Connolly and Reynolds. Found wanting in some games, legs appear to be going slightly but IF Fuchs injury isnt too bad then I'd still make the two of them our best midfield pairing in most games.
Harkes - started the season really well but appears to have dipped. Needs to find his form again. COULD be a good Premiership player if he can consistently affect games with more goals and assists. Will likely see a lot of game time with the injuries we currently have. Maybe similar to Sporle in some ways that he is more suited to the Premiership than the Championship, but needs to prove he can really influence a game more for me.
Powers - hasn't really played enough games in either league to judge properly. But he is more than capable of being an important player for us. Out of contract in the summer and I cant see it being renewed if I'm honest.
McMullan - irrelevant at this stage.
Pawlett - again, started the season actually quite well, but as usual in his time with us, form and injuries have affected him. Cant see him being offered a deal past the summer, and will actually be annoyed if he is to be honest.

Clark - been a very important player for us. Underrated. Easily a Premiership player. New contract please!
Appere - Not had too many opportunities but Saturday showed he can be a player for us. Physically he has everything. Confidence and game time required.
Shankland - goal tally aside, he is clearly one of our most important players and if we can start to play a style that suits him more often then we'll see the best of him. A Premiership player and above.

I think you've been a bit saft wi yer analysis min. Every midfield player has been below standard

Agree with most of the above.

I'd go further with negative thoughts on Reynolds,Connolly - half the reason our midfield can't function is continual blootering the ball up the park - indeed all the more frustrating as regards Powers - agree with you where he's concerned.

Be interested to get your thoughts on Edwards, McNulty.  For me Edwards Ok, McNulty - holding Louis back.

Ah yeah I left them out as they werent at the club last season but for me I'd say Edwards is every so slightly better than Connolly and Reynolds (but not by much tbh). He is a bit of a bombscare on the deck but in the air he is excellent.

As for McNulty I don't see it as holding Louis back but I know where you are coming from. At the end of the day we want the best players possible at the club and I fully believe that our strikers (Shankland, Clark, McNulty) along with Benji will be the reason we avoid too many relegation worries this season.

I think the defence get pass marks, the midfield could do better, Strikers need to participate more in class.

Benji, Star pupil and will go o to have a good career.

Pawlett, McMullan, King, Smith shouldn’t be attending class after January.
