Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

I'd ve been chuffed we 1 point fae this match, so over the phuckin moon we the 3 points.

1st half was a bit scrappy but we held our own. We moved up a couple of levels in the 2nd half.

Crackin finish by Clark. Wish we'd got 1 or 2 more but nae complaints.

We are up against a better team next weekend and expected to roll over no doubt. We may get nothing from the game but so long as I see my team fight tooth and nail and hold their heads up I will be happy. Games against Celtic and Sevco won't define our season, games like today will. Well done again to Micky and the boys 👏

This.

Great result.  County solid side.
As one who was highly critical last week,  I have to put my hands up & say good performance on park, great performance Mickey.
Kicked the ball away a wee bit first half.
Sharp Pawlett goal. Great Clark goal. Inspired substitutions, positive throughout, mature when goal up.
Previous years a goal up you'D be sitting yourself.

Week in week out not dropping points will be what defines season.

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

There’s been hardly anything between the teams in every game so far. A small mistake or a chance taken is the difference between 0 and 3 points. There will probably come a run where things go against but it’s about looking at the bigger picture during those times that’s important. All great just now though.

Last week to some fans, C.Smith needed punted and Clark was ineffective at this level. Chalmers wasn’t ready and the squad was threadbare. This week one sets the goal up for the other after good work from Chalmers (2 of those players came off the bench which demonstrates a bit of depth!).

I’d take a couple of top 6 style signings, no doubt. Just pointing out the closeness at this level and the over reactions in some quarters

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

I think what the first 4 games have done is shown that none of us really have a clue. I sat yesterday when I saw the line up feeling a bit worried about the game, then look what happens.

Connolly and Reynolds were good yesterday. There are people on this board who predicted we'd be steam-rolled by teams with a bit of quality, but 3 goals conceded in 4 games proves that the difference in quality between the two league isnt massive. It exists, but they are both more than good enough to deal with it, some believed that, some didnt, but we are all on the same page in being absolutely delighted for them and how they have played.

Freeman and Sporle in the full back positions should have been an issue, but because of how well the Marks control the defence, it wasnt.

I'll hold my hands up LEK and say I was worried about the CHs ability to cope with the top league, but they've done well generally in the first four games. Think against the two arse cheeks the Connolly challenge yesterday would have been given as a penalty, but it's the same for all the rest of the teams in the league.

The difference in the two is maybe MMs influence.

Something you've heard MM saying often is he's here to 'improve' players.
Think we're seeing the results of this already.
Good man manager.
Good tactician into the bargain, his substitutions seem to have substance.
Are we seeing the best since JYM?
Early days but loving being an Arab right now.

P.S. Celtic on Saturday. Anywhere you can get insurance?!

Re: Ross County v Dundee Utd - Saturday 15/8/20

I have to say I have been blown away with the positive contribution Reynolds has made to our attacks as well.  Last year the thing I hated most was CH's dithering with the ball, playing it straight across the back and going absolutely nowhere, and then getting pressed losing possession, and ending up having to defend again.

Reynolds looks like a changed man, making really incisive passes, recycling the ball quickly when our attacks break down, and sending decent balls over the top for our front men to chase.  Presumably another thing MM has changed for the better.  I'll be interested to see Hearts play this season, as I am genuinely curious how much is MM arriving vs Neilson leaving.  Either way the gulf between them is plain for everyone to see.

All the above.

+ I dinnae mind the odd ba' blootered up the park, working to our advantage used properly under Mickey.  OK aerial ball not the percentage ball but playing pitty pat boring Neilson shite did ma head in, opponents knew what we were doing week in week out.    And Louis is a tireless skillful runner who'll get even better.
