I always liked him at Utd, but I was in a minority.

Respect the fact he went abroad and toughed it out, and has been successful too.

Most Scots who play abroad want back home within 5 minutes.

I was a fan of his also tek. He seems to have done well for them. I wonder if anything comes of this though

Never rated him. A bit of a popster. No heart. Decent delivery from set pieces but that was it IMO

I thought he was a decent player also, and felt he was unfairly abused, especially on 'Mad', but also at the games.

As I've pointed out to a few folk who slate players, they must have been fantastic footballers themselves.

He was far from terrible mind you. Decent back up and not in the league of Warren Cummings, Scott McCulloch or Tony Smith for crapness.

And Celtic's recent siging policy pleases me greatly. If GMS, Armstrong and Douglas is the height of their ambitions, obviously the don't fancy the Champions League.

That's two from two since they moved there that they've failed to turn up v St Johnstone!

Part of the first team squad that just won away against top Serie-A side Fiorentina.

Lech Poznan are current Champions of Poland and just a point off the top of their respective Europa group table.

Out of all the players who've departed Tannadice in the past 5 years (Goodwillie,Conway,Daly,Russell,Allan,Robertson,Gauld,Armstrong,GMS,Ciftci) it could perfectly reasonably be argued that he's carved out the best career for himself.

Who would have called that?

I was a fan of Barry Douglas in his time here, but if he hadn't left when he did, whether Jackie McNamara wanted to keep him or otherwise..... it's doubtful we would have signed Andy Robertson.
