I dont think the court case will have an impact on any signings.
If Hibs are having a bid accepted of £250k and we had 1 knocked back at £250k i imagine they must be throwing better add ons at them? or maybe we wanted to pay over X amount of time and them up front?
Hopefully we are back in and try and get him though.
Hopefully come Monday MM is on the phone trying to get a winger and and 2 centre half to start with also.

Gogic Easter Road-bound too.
That’s 3 of our summer targets headed to Leith.
This court case has really fucked us this summer.
To be fair they were 'reported targets of RN.
Mellon i would imagine has his own targets in mind, hopefully to play a bit more attacking football.
Spot on.

Just reading on social media that the young Finnish winger we were reportedly in for has scored 2 in the last 3 games.

I really hope we are still in for him.

Hearts chasing Butcher ... lost for expletives.
Personally I don't rate Butcher. He's really slow and makes too many late tackles. I think he would be a liability in the SPL. However, now that Hearts are after him I'd like to say that we should hang on to our ace midfielder and ward off any suitors by slapping a £2million price tag on the Butcher

Incredibly worrying still zero signings (goalkeeper don’t count), not even been linked with anyone atm

First bit - late tackles: exactly what we need, how many times were we bullied pre Butcher. Also cannae mind ae him getting sent off last year. Indeed he showed maturity a number of times to get booked early (v fun comes to mind) and be restrained thereafter.
Late tackles - Davie Bowman - awesome.
Second bit- love it.
SuperMario - zero signings - yeah it is a wee bit silent on that front.

Not surprising though mate considering Mellon's comments when he got in the door. I would expect him and Asghar have a decent sized list of targets.

Interview with Mellon

Each to their own but I don't read that as a worrying interview at all...

All sounds sensible to me.

What’s with the panic re. signings?
1 - Mellon’s been in the door a week
2 - were still in the middle of a pandemic so trialists aren’t happening
3 - he has yet to get his management team in place
I’d be more worried if signings WERE being made as there’s little doubt they wouldn’t be fully vetted by the new manager.
Stick with the current squad. Get them fit and ready. Add quality if/when the opportunity arises
Panic signings at this stage = more Loemba’s, Barton’s etc 🥴

Reading that it looks like Butcher is going nowhere which is great. But it also reads like he won't be getting any assistants or coaches in anytime soon. That to me is worrying, don't Bowman and Grant have their own jobs to do as well as taking the first team? It also reads like there won't be any signings coming for a while. Hmmm.

Nothing can happen until we have absolute certainty about next season. Would you come to United atm , or wait till you know the outcome of arbitration?

It may be to do with this. Probably is.
But i would say those are worrying comments.
Sounds like MM is working with no certainty of being able to bring people in (staff or players).
Saying we can't bring in trialists due to C19.
St.Johnstone have Danny Swanson on trial. Livi just signed Kouider Aissa after trialing him for 2 weeks.
St Johnstone have Danny Swanson on trial? Craig Conway, isn't it?

Think it's just calm, cool heads from Mellon when he is probably and rightly concerned with the situation. He's playing the game, talking up the current players and making sure they buy into him in case they are needed. He'll know what he needs and who he wants. We'll move quickly after arbitration is finished (if successful).
Similar to the coaches, the two guys are capable of stepping up in the interim, talking him through the current squads strengths and weaknesses from first team to development team. He's coy on his old assistant, i'd expect that to happen soon without him having to send out an SOS in the media.

Agreed. Either that or enjoys stirring things up a bit.
