There is too much riding on this season in the premiership to go for an inexperienced manager as we have to make sure we stay up.
Tommy Wright for me

Would anyone take Barry Robson?
I mentioned him when Ray left. He obviously has no experience as a manager but seems to be rated as a coach and obviously knows the club. Hard as nails too and would take no shit.
Do we want another former player though?
Wright would probably be my choice.

John Hughes?
I’m not saying but I always thought after ray got punted we should have went for him, the raith job has completely fucked him over in Scottish football I think, plays brilliant football
Personally think it will be wright

Personally be delighted if he took Ashgar with him. Hearts are looking for a DoF.
What has Asghar done to make you feel this way?
Was in the boardroom with him at Thistle about a year or so back. I have a gut feel and am
normally right. I don’t trust him. No more, no less.

Tommy Wright a massive no from me. Whats the point in investing all that money into a youth setup then hire a boss who wont ever play any of them.
You are aware that their Captain is Jason Kerr who is only 23, Ali McCann (20) was in the running for SPFL young player of the year and kept Davidson and Jason Holt out of their team last season, Zander Clark came through their ranks as did Liam Gordon and Chris Kane. Callum Hendry also young.
He's been bringing their average age down for the past 4 years. Some really ill-informed comments going around tonight.

Dont think Tommy Wright would do a bad job, i would quite like us going for Robinson from Motherwell however, seems like he could be good.

Are Hearts worse than Huns ?
- Did Huns attempt to relegate us in Court of Sessions ? . .. No
- Did Huns take our successful manager off us at the same time ? . .. No
- Did Huns effectively take potential signings off us at worst possible time ? . .. No
Best way to beat the bastards is on the football field.
Best way to do that is Wright (although our face doesn't seem to fit with him.)
Wonder if Ogren knew what a nest of vipers he was getting himself into ?

Fuck it get him in then 😂
No but in all seriousness clearly an uneducated oversight on my part. Always seen him as a manager who just wants to get by season after season but maybe the proof is in the pudding in terms of building long term at a club. In terms of football style him and Neilson maybe not so far off each other but I have just always had a gut feeling about Wright that I wouldnt like to see him managing the team. Cant explain why but if he did get the job and went on to totally shut my puss I'd be fucking delighted tbh.
Such early days at this point anyway. Its panic stations and names are just being chucked in the air. Wright is an obvious one due to being out of work and being heavily linked before albeit under a different regime. I cant see us going too left-field with the appointment but I do think we will take our time with it. At least big Tony is an ex agent and will have plenty of contacts out there firing up their Zoom accounts as we speak.

Tommy Wrights the obvious choice, if he’s not going to NI.
I don’t know why but I just don’t think he’ll work.
Levien, Badger, Dunc, McIntyre, McInally, Coyle, Houston will all be mentioned. Don’t think it’ll be any of those.
Looking at the lower leagues, Stewart Petrie’s the only one who springs to mind or Dick Campbell who it won’t be, but I’d love.
Maybe Holt?
Robbo? Tho we'd have to give ICT half the Neilson compo money from Hearts.
Yogi ready for a re-launch?
Think Tommy's too agricultural for us, we need more of a city-type.
How good would it be if Big Dunc came back & he was amazing!
McIntyre & Dodds??

I'd say Jim McInally has zero chance after his dissapointing remarks about Utd a couple of days ago.

Smedz every one of those suggestions terrify me buddy... and yet I cant give you any other names to make myself feel better.

Whoever we appoint as Boss i'd like to think we will use the 100k Neilson compo to push the boat out and get Kevin Nisbet now.
Assuming the new Manager wants him (and why wouldn't he?).

May depend on whether we need that money to get a manager in or not.

Agree 100%.
Also where did you see it was 100k compo, Tek? Dirty bastards if its only just 6 figures. I was hoping maybe 200+ 😂

Admit they are all a bit left-field LEK but it kinda shows you what we're up against.
Who the fuck knows...?

Indeed.
That is part of the reason i think Tommy Wright is such an obvious choice.
He's available, he requires no compo, you have to imagine he lives in or near Perth.
Would free up the cash needed to get the kind of quality signings in we'll need before going to Parkhead, Ibrox, Pittodrie, Easter Road, Fir Park etc.
Cos as the squad stands right now, we'll struggle.

Agree with all that, yet I still have my doubts about him (and I’m still not sure why).

Tek, I hope this site runs on better servers than the Utd website. Canna mind it being this busy at midnight on a Sunday before 😂 cheers Robbie.
Honestly I was sitting eating my tea 6 hours ago and laughed off a text from a mate saying "Hearts want Neilson"
What a mental night. Scottish fucking football. Dundee fucking United.

He had a wee dig at Utd over knocking back the reconstruction resolution.

That was one of my 1st thought. What new manager would argue with that.
Doubt we will offer mair money than RN was on to any new manager.
Getting Nisbet in might have a bigger affect than anything under changing circumstances whatever they might be.

Same. Seen the story about tea time and thought 'surely no?'.
All happened very very quickly. Seen a lot of things in Scottish football over the past 30+ years but this one really shocked me. Particularly as the team he's went to is the very team trying to usurp our Promotion (the promotion he delivered)!
Our season kicks off in 6 weeks time (maybe).
We currently have no First Team Manager, no Managing Director, no new signings and no new strips 😂😂
All joking aside, there's much work to do at the club starting tomorrow morning.
I'm amazed that RN is getting written off so readily.
I think when we wake up tmrw it might hit us a bit harder.
We were on a wee journey with Robbie & Co.
Hit the buffers, the carpet's been pulled from under our feet.
