*Defense : if I'm not mistaken, the center-half pair should be P.Hegarty-D.Narey, and M.Malpas as left-back but seeing everyone's starting games it seems that P.Hegarty could have had some problem, entering M.Malpas in the center and J.McInally appearing on the left side, what I do not know is if P.Narey could be play as right-back, Then it could be D.Narey the right back and being central defenders P.Hegarty and M.Malpas, always according to the number of games as starters.

Paul Sturrock also played LW (left wing ).
 

J.Clark would be more a defender and D.Bowman a midfielder, both in the middle and on the right?
Do you remember anything about Gordon McLeod and Jimmy Page?

I would say the CD was pretty much always 2 from Hegarty, Narey and Clark that season. Mo would pretty much always be LB, RB not so sure - Holt and McGinnis I think would always be RB if on.  Maybe Bowman occasionally?  Bowman and McInally CM, Bannon LW, Gallacher RW, Redford Attacking Mid, Sturrock and Ferguson CF?

Greetings, searching through the various websites including the Dundee Utd players archive, the positions of some players are not very clear to me, John Holt for example would be a right-back mainly but then also see him as a left-back, central defender, midfielder. .. which would you say would be his secondary position? .. left-back? right or left midfielder? defensive midfielder ?, another player in a similar situation is Gary McGinnis, seems like a defender and a defensive midfielder, but which position in the defense would he cover more often?
