Talk of Greg Stewart the former Funster now.
Honestly think these names are just being put out there to help sell season tickets which are due out within the next week. Can’t see how clubs at any level are even contemplating new signings with so much uncertainty over when football will resume.👆 100% in my opinion, that and newspapers trying to fill blank pages.
It is vital that United launch the Season ticket scheme that takes into account the current climate, most fans I presume would love to give them their backing but have families to look after as a priority.
Season tickets arent going to be made cheaper because of this situation. People shouldnt be surprised when the prices are similar or (more likely) higher than they were this season.

Probably just more 'paper talk' but Utd being mentioned as having an interest in re-signing John Souttar.

Hmmm... I’d take him back, still got a mistake in him, but he’s matured since his time at us and would probably be one of the better options that’s realistic to us.
Would he come back though? Didn’t exactly have the best relationship with the fans or the club at the time he left. Suppose things have changed dramatically since then, and Robbie was the one who signed him for Hearts, so you never know.
Regardless, the names that are being mentioned show that the club has no intention of being bottom-six fodder next season.

If our Physio is on piece work, they'll be the best paid person at the club.

I know this’ll probably be unpopular but I wouldn’t mind getting Berra as he seemed to really steady Dundee at the back.

Berra was too slow for the team at the bottom of the league last year and he ain't gonna get any quicker .

I reckon I'd take Souttar back. Managers, including Robbie, are keen to see central defenders stepping out with the ball these days, he can do this and would certainly be an upgrade on Connolly and Reynolds in that regard. Not sure if he's any better defensively though.
I don't think he'd come back, Levein, for all his recent failures, got it spot on when he said that United ruined his early career. Was thrown under the bus by a series of managers.

Mainly true.
He wasn’t blameless either though.

Regarding John Souttar coming back, it might be paper talk, but I'm wondering if the rumours about Ryan Gauld returning could be related to this too.
Maybe and most likely wishful thinking, but I'd be ecstatic if both returned, keeping in mind some folk will point out that players should never come back. Wishful thinking, as both Souttar and Gauld have two years and one year left on their respective contracts.
But ecstatic as they are exactly the type of player we need, and exactly in the age bracket I reckon our club's staff are likely to be aiming for.
1% chance of it happening?

Come on now. He's finished as a top league player.

So far I've seen us linked with:
Stuart Findlay
Stephen O'Donnell
Drey Wright
Kevin Nisbet
John Souttar
If we are able to add these types of players then I hold out hope that a 'good' season is very possible.

Agreed. I am hoping that we still have some money to spend after all this is over. Surely now Dunfermline would have to accept anything close to 100k for Nisbet?
As for O'Donnell - has already been down to England and not cracked it, very hopeful we might be able to bring him in. Having said that, I'd feel sorry for L Smith BUT he would still be part of the plans imo as he can cover LB as well.
Findlay will be a tough one as I think Killie would be looking for £200k upwards but time will tell.
The fact we are even linked with these players is encouraging.

Brannigan’s in the papers today saying we’ll still be spending to bring players in which is encouraging, if a little baffling.
Types of players we’re being linked to are as good as you’ll get outside of the top two, so as you say, encouraging.
