Both of you (Tek and bowers) have a point.

A lot of smaller clubs need the matches on to make money, as tek suggests, while bowers is also correct that few pay in as these teams normally have a high percentage of season ticket attendees.

Where they may lose their biggest percentage is in the loss of hospitality income, as many small clubs can cater for relatively big numbers paying, say £80 per person, 80 guests, £6,400.

As said above Pat how much after costs etc does the club make?  Hospitality as you say above £6,400.. How much after costs would the club have? £3/4k? Its something yeh i agree. but this i imagine would cover other costs.

It's all conjecture, like my £6,400 example, but if a club makes the £3k profit you mention on a day, that's equivalent to (find calculator) 533 fans paying the £12 that Cove charge to get in.

I think the games would all have been called off for this weekend had there not been a match at Ibrox on Sunday.

Probably right decision: I think it's done for the season, saying it's 'postponed indefinitely' gives the authorities some thinking time to decide what happens next season (in terms of league allocations).

Its a massive pain in the arse, but from a public health viewpoint, which is the most important thing, it’s the correct call.

Ok then. Why has some medical officer boy said you are less likely to catch it in a big crowd?
Also me you tom dick and harry still have to go into work. So why cant players play behind closed doors?

I’m absolutely shitting myself that we’re gonna have to spend another year in this horrible league because of this.

Because he's been telt to say that to avoid panic? How the fuck are you less likely to catch a contagious disease in a big crowd. I think he was trying to say its less likely outdoors than indoors.---i.e.- an outdoor stadium compared to an enclosed pub. Either way, both are no great. I think the UK are in for a big shock with how flippant they are. Was listening to TalkSport today and the newsreader was jokingly coughing and dismissive as fuck, halfwit.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

I fear this is the likeliest scenario.

It's just so unprecedented.

The biggest challenge is going to be learning to live with it.

As I said to you elsewhere listen to the experts that aren’t making money from it (or employed by those making money).

Also the PFA took the decision last night that players wouldn’t play behind closed doors, so that’s that one cleared up.

Yeah I can see Doncaster telling Celtic that their 9 in a row and 4th treble is cancelled, not going to happen.

Or telling the Huns that their title challenge is over despite their being 27 points still to play for with 2 Old Firms and a game in hand still to play.

Whatever happens, someone’s no gonna be very happy, just praying it isn’t us. 😟

Re: The Scottish Leagues have to be suspended

Aye, imagine Hearts would be pulling every lawyer, they can get their hands on, to stop them going down tae.

Think the only way is to finish the season when they can or it’s gonna be court actions galore.

By all the reports this is gonna be months rather than weeks until we get back to any normality.

A possible option would be the new season, whenever that may be,  being two rounds of fixtures next season

That's a reasonable suggestion: but the authorities want as many Glasgow Cheeks games as possible, so they might not go for it.

If it drags on to August/September, then finish this season, have a wee special cup tournament involving all clubs Oct-Dec, break then start summer football in March.  Get something good out of this.

Pretty sure FIFA or UEFA take a zero tolerance approach to clubs taking legal action against their governing bodies, and have the power to impose sanctions such as removing their league licences and banning them from club and international competitions if it takes place.

Re: The Scottish Leagues have to be suspended

The Chairman of the English FA Greg Clarke is saying he doesn't expect the English Premier League to be completed this season.

The rumour is Liverpool will be awarded the title.

This is gonna open up a huge can of worms and be a complete clusterfuck.

I think you have a point with the 2022 WC being played in the winter this would be the opportunity to realign the football season.

Re: The Scottish Leagues have to be suspended

If Liverpool are awarded the title, it’s probably a good thing for us. The SFA and SPFL are spineless worms and will most likely just follow whatever precedent the English set.

The suggestion is that UEFA are going to take control next week and take the lead on what happens next.

Big meetings set for next Tuesday and Thursday with all FA's.
