Rumours going about that an announcement on games going ahead behind closed doors is imminent. Games will apparently be available to be streamed, though not in pubs.
If this turns out to be the case, would you be happy to give United £15/20 per game to stream it?
Also, more directed towards DUSF members, would you be happy for some of the foundation’s warchest to be used to help the club mitigate the significant financial shortfall caused by playing games behind closed doors?
Big yes on both for me, if Mr. A was still running the show, I’d maybe be a bit more reluctant to hand over my cash, but the new owners have been good to their word since they’ve come in, and have us within touching distance of promotion, think they’d deserve a bit of solidarity from the fans should this situation arise.
Edit - Changed the title JD as to not confuse this thread with the other one in General Discussion - Tek 👍

It is only £8 to stream the games for Arabs outside the UK is it not?
Would therefore be unfair to charge our home based fans double that to watch the games.
I'd probably stream them but i have to say the last time i streamed a Utd game (2-1 versus Morton last season) it was completely unwatchable. Very, very poor quality.
They should just postpone the season for a month or something.
Football is nothing without the fans.
P.s. to see the players holding aloft the Championship trophy at an empty Tannadice would be pretty devastating tbh (in football terms).
Feels like we are all gonna miss out on the big celebration our fanbase deserve after the past 5 years.🙁

Considering the financial hit this could be to the club, does it really matter that guys abroad would be paying a couple quid less than us?
I’m not really bothered over whether it’s “unfair” or not, just like I’m no bothered if it’s “unfair” when the club does friend for a fiver deal every now and then, diminishing the value of my season ticket.
I’m not petty like that, though I know there will be certain elements of our support that will be though.

I wouldn't consider myself 'petty' either JD 🤔
And i get the point about the club losing out on income (though all clubs would be in this boat).
But to charge our Scottish fans double? Not sure how the club could justify that tbh. Overseas supporters would have to pay the same. It's only right.
I also don't think they could justify charging that amount for the quality of stream on offer. It would have to vastly improve and very quickly. Anyway this is all purely speculative as we don't even know yet if.
1) Scottish lower league games will be affected
2) What price Utd would charge to stream games to fans
Again, the sensible thing for the SPFL to do imo is just postpone the season for a month and finish it thereafter.
I get the need to finish the EPL and SPL quickly due to the Euros (if they even go ahead). But the Scottish lower leagues needn't be finished quickly for this reason.

Is there any solid evidence this is going to happen and how soon? All i've seen is it rumored.
You couldn't control charging overseas fans less than UK based to stream it as you could just use a VPN to pay the cheaper amount.
Delaying the season a month or so may not work as the outbreak could possibly get worse.

Why would season ticket holders have to pay £15-20 to watch a stream of a home game?
Not to mention Arabzone subscribers?

I've a feeling that IF this was to be the the case season ticket holders might get the games for free since we cant be at the games.

Also I believe any suspension of games would have to come from the government. Something to do with clubs insurance policies.

I think we’ll end up with the games all being delayed rather than closed door tbh. If it goes on for too long either way there will likely be clubs going into admin.

I cant see a delay as they cant put a time frame on it.

Maybe not, but the minute one footballer gets it they’re probably gonna have too.

I've already got my Ticket for the Arbroath game on the 27th as have others. Wonder what would happen we that.

If the football authorities are instructed to have games played behind closed doors, they'll be wanting to delay it until mid afternoon on Sunday......

You'd maybe get a refund?
Definitely going to Cappielow now, could be the last game of the season. If there are closures, we just have to put up with it, and no doubt some of us will be out of pocket and luck...I've got hospo next Saturday v Alloa, but it that goes, it goes.
In fact there are plenty areas where we'll have to adapt, and it may be an overreaction to close stuff down, but we'll probably only know that in hindsight.
But if we have to watch the games on streams, please United, get that guy who shouts into the microphone at top volume after a goal to 'self-isolate'.

Surely if this was to happen, the home club provides the steam, season tickets holders pay nothing, You charge away teams and no season ticket holders fans £10
The way this is going, can’t see united fans seeing the team lift the trophy

Agreed.
No danger we’re gonna be there to see us lift the title. I’d be very surprised if this weekend wasn’t the last time we see United for a while.

Events with over 500 people cancelled from next week, info from Scottish Government, unsure when they will announce it.
It is to free up emergency services, not because of infection risk. Schools still open for present.
Edit: they've also considered asking all over 60s to self isolate. Don't think that is coming in for now, tf.

Note the word Events and not gatherings. Very piecemeal.
Bizarre that Edinburgh Airport gets 40,000 passengers per day and Glasgow 26,000 from all corners of the world. Think you've got more chance of catching sh1t there than u have at Gayfield.

That would be the acid test for this virus if it can survive Gayfield then we are doomed.
Some clubs will be fine with this 500 rule.

Billy, it's not about infection prevention: it is because football matches as events require policing and medical personnel which interferes with regular scheduling as it is. Airports, as an example, have emergency services based permanently on site.
It'll be interesting to see how the football authorities deal with the situation next week.

I ken Pat. I'm just being a moaning basa, and TBH a bit worried that this works against us.
