I see he gave a brief (very brief) bit of chat on his time at Utd and why he left.
Claims he was 'buzzing' to break into the Utd team and didn't want to leave. Insinuated that his departure was Peter Houston's fault.
This is pretty much what Stevie Campbell told me years ago.
One thing though. He says the 'whole stadium' gave him abuse after it was known he was likely to go to West Brom. Did this actually happen?
I was at the game in Paisley about Xmas time in 2011(?) when he came on after not featuring for months and yes, some fans gave him it tight. But just as many Utd fans shouted them down or applauded him on tbf.

IIRC he wanted a massive jump(in uniteds terms) in his wages which utd quite rightly refused to pay.

That's how I recall it: John Viola led him to thinking he was worth much more than established players, with which United correctly disagreed.

Fuck him. Thought he was bigger than United after playing about 4 games.

We’ll never know what could’ve been with Scott Allan.
I’d imagine the truth is somewhere in the middle between him and Houston. Going by what Allan says, the agent could’ve went in above Allan’s head and started making demands without his knowledge, Houston then would’ve become incensed at this and totally castigated Allan. Shame we couldn’t have found some sort of middle ground and come to an agreement that worked for both parties, of only we had a level-headed chairman there to mediate things.

Whatever the reason for his premature jump to the big time, it’s cost him dearly (not in monetary terms)
He’s 29 this year and his career is only really just starting. Finally settled after 12 spells at 8 clubs in 8 years since leaving. A player in his position is peaking around now.
Had the ‘incident’ worked out differently, who knows where he’d be?

He’s also a multimillionaire, set for life after probably earning in the low-end of five figures a week on long term contracts at West Brom and Celtic, and is probably still getting a decent wedge at Hibs.
He could’ve earned that and more had he stayed a bit longer at United, or he could be approaching the latter part of his career with very little transferable job skills and no idea what to do once his football career is over.
He might have a few regrets but I doubt he’s losing that much sleep at night.
