Disagree massively tbh mate, we needed someone I’ve no doubt we looked at Tony watt but looks like he’s going to Motherwell, we had absolutely nothing on bench against Arbroath, shankland god for bid gets Injured we have one fit striker who is 6 months in to his first proper season playing regular first team football, that’s a lot to put on appere shoulders, probably be a deal to end of season to get us over line!

Happy with that. When he was at Hamilton I always thought that he was a good player. I think him and Shankland up top and Appere on the bench is more than enough to see us over the line much sooner.

I can’t see what a striker that’s floated about the dregs of England, scoring a minimal amount of goals has to offer us that justifies him taking a squad place away from one of our younger players. There’s a reason he’s without a club at this stage of the season, and that reason usually is that he’s pish. As is Tony Watt btw, who’s made a career off the back of one goal, and who I also would rather we didn’t sign.
I really don’t see why losing Sow has blindsided people so much and sent them into this mad panic to sign anybody and everybody. We got on perfectly fine without him for the first half of the season, and it’s been clear ever since he’s signed that his body isn’t up to professional football anymore.
We’re really only down Nicky Clark, and even he had missed chunks of the season through injury prior to breaking his foot.

If its a signing until the summer, he gives a bit more adequate cover for when Shankland is away with Scotland or if (god forbid) he gets an injury.
Anytime I saw him play for Hamilton he seemed a handful and scored a few decent goals.
13 games left, we just need to get through them and he might help us do that.

I can see your point, however from the times I watched him at Hamilton, he can offer us something different in the final 3rd. We badly lack pace at times, he has that. He's good at holding up the ball, he's decent in the air. Appere seems to be preferred in the wide areas instead of up top.

Quite happy at this to be honest as we are short and chances are he will be on the bench to provide cover. Dont think many wanted Osman to return to the squad following his pretty dreadful loan spell with Killie but hes come in and looked ok before his injury. Give the boy a chance and judge him at the end of the season, if he helps us get over the line then im all for it.

This is the sort of panic signing that you make when you've screwed it up. However, gives us some cover and gives the lad a chance to show what he can do (assuming it is a to the end of the season job) so in the circumstances (assuming we are not missing a better emergency signing) it is probably all good.

Tried to sign him last January apparently

Cheltenham Town must have outbid us
To be fair, maybe he was wanting to stay south close to family at the time.
My memories of him are as a pacy player who didn't always take the ball with him, and the two play-off matches in our first season down here under Raymond, where he troubled Edge and Durnan (although Wato troubled Durnan just as much).

And I doubt Hamilton would have let him leave for us considering how close they were to the playoffs...

Lets just watch and see what happens. He cant be any less use to us than Sow and Clark will be till the end of the season. Nothing to lose really.
Insurance signing?
27 goals in 6 seasons. 15 of these in 80 games for Accies.
Can't say I noticed him against us.
Maybe he's more of a provider.
Can we not get that guy that came on as subbie for Newcastle the other night?

We needed someone. We have (thankfully) signed someone.
It's not a 'pointless' signing at all. If Shankland had gotten injured then you would have seen real panic as we would have only had Louis left as a forward.
Fwiw i thought Bingham was ok at Accies.
Let's see how he does. He has a few weeks to impress us enough to hopefully win himself a longer deal.
Good luck to the lad.

Quite a few of his goals are through one on one's with keepers looking at his highlights.
No sure how many he missed though on lowlights not available to also see.
Only Shankland has been better at that over the last few years.
Maybe better Bingham comes in under appreciated than a marquee signing. Let him go in under rated and dae his thing.

From a random boy on Twitter (who sees himself as a bit of a Scottish football 'expert' but he is also a Celtic fan so I'm not so sure)
Rakish Bingham is an interesting signing for Dundee Utd, a striker not renowned for scoring but seldom plays with best teams in the League, record with low scoring Accies isn't the worst when broken down
Games: 97
Starts: 65
Goals: 16
Minutes: 5794
Mins per Goal: 362 (4 games)
He's a player I always felt could do a job at a higher level than Hamilton, very quick, strength, bravery & his movement was always really good, favours the side foot finish and isn't afraid to use both feet, he's not Shankland but has attributes suited for an attack minded side.

Ah, Michael Stewart.
