Anyone got a solution for banning 'day trippers'?
Some of them will be your mates, why not speak to them & encourage them to come more often instead of condemning them?
And cut the admin some slack. Damned if they do & damned if they don't.
Opening the Shed? Crazy. Not opening the Shed? Missed opportunity.
And yeah, January is a hard month financially but the 4th round of the Scottish Cup has forever been played in January. Many fans can't afford it but we can't ask the SFA to put it back til we're flush again. Go if you can, watch it on TV if you can't.
And maybe some of the 'day trippers' could be encouraged. They'll be well enough off with only spending money on a handful of games.
I'd love five figure gates too & the truth is it is heading in that direction so let's be happy.
And bring on the Hi-bees
Ahhh there he is

the good old days when your season ticket got you into the cup games
There was an old boy who used to drink in snug. Season ticket holder. Never been to a cup game at Tannadice since the club stopped letting you use ST's for them.

I've only missed 2 or 3 games all season but won't be there on Sunday - just can't afford it I'm afraid.

Yep, you and about 4,000 other Arabs it appears. It’s a hard month, remember it well when I was working.

If I still lived in Dundee I'd be there. Every game is very expensive for me!

It is obviously more difficult for those who travel a distance. Sunday makes it less appealing for many reasons. I might go, might not.
Had United shown sense in marketing the match, with Hibs' agreement of course, they could have attracted people to make the game a better spectacle. The two clubs must have had discussions about pricing options, as both offered season ticket holders £2 cheaper entry for a time. But there ended any imaginative thought.
If we'd been drawn away to Hibs, it would have been a definite, though.

The point about season tickets is huge i think. It should get you into every home match, cup or otherwise, lads shell out for the season ticket and then are expected to fork out another £22....
Also Hib's sale's good as they haven't had a game for 4 weeks whilst our fans been going everywhere in big numbers.

Ok. Heres a thing. See when it's a cup game. Both teams get approx a 3rd of the gate with the sfa/polis getting the rest. That money gets calculated on the whole gate. So say crowds 8000 with 5000 season ticket holders there. Utd still need to spunk out 2/3rds of what an 8000 crowd brings in so would actually lose a fortune on the gate.
I feel for those who are missing it but at least it's live on network TV.
Maybe Bowers could do some cardboard cut-out fans for the empty seats?

The fact that it is live on television is why some of us are potentially missing it.

Thought we were talking about low ticket sales, not club finances. A lowering of the ticket prices would affect income as well. My point was that imo the season ticket holder gets a raw deal from this type of ticket pricing. Just to clarify, I am not a season ticket holder this is just my opinion.

I'm just telling you that's why season ticket holders dont get into cup games with their season tickets. 👍

I would need to put a cardboard cut out of myself for this one(due to being away with work).
